The most important thing to know is that the productions are absolutely first rate. This is no standard community theatre and I always feel that the actors are just taking a vacation from their Broadway shows. They are top-notch! It's a theatre in the round, so there are no bad seats. The first time you visit you can't believe that... More

Thank you so much for the good words! We are indeed not a standard community theatre, we are a professional musical theatre and in fact quite a few of our performers have been on Broadway and even more have gone from our stage to Broadway - including Nathan Lane! Hope to see you this summer, we have great shows lined... More

My first time at The Mac-Haydn Theatre didn't disappoint. At first glace I noticed the theater was quite small and didn't know how the performers were going to fit on a such a small stage, but to my surprise it wasn't crammed at all. The theater was perfect and intimate enough where you felt like you were in the show,... More

Mac-Haydn always has great musicals. Sister Act was no disappointment. The actors/singers were excellent. No matter where you sit, you're right there next to the show. It is an older theatre so it might be a little difficult for those who are handicapped.

Saw Sister Act today, great show, cast and performance. Have been here about 6 times now and have never been dissapointed . Small cozy theater in the round that puts on great shows. Already planning our next trip in a few weeks. Highly recommend.

We attended our first production at the Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham, NY on a recent Sunday afternoon. The theater is a little small and offers seating in the round. There is not a bad seat in the house. The production we saw of Chicago filled the theater with energy. There is a concession stand and outside seating to enjoy a... More

We went last summer and had a wonderful time! Just the thing on a Sunday afternoon. Quick drive up the Taconic near Albany. Polished performance with beautiful sets and costumes. Well worth the drive from CT!

Excellent and professional production. The seating was great and the staff were very helpful. This classic still managed to keep my gd enthralled and we went back the week later for "Chicago".

It's hard these days in the electronic age, to get kids to stay seated and focused for an hour, but they did here. We saw the 10:30am performance of Hansel & Gretel. As a theater-in-the-round, there is not a bad seat in the house. I am amazed at how the cast/crew changed the set for the scenes in complete darkness.... More

In addition to its evening show the MHT offers a gem of a morning matinee program for families featuring sharp slick succinct one-hour performances of classics like Hansel & Gretel. Kids can get an autograph book and then meet the cast afterwards. Great idea. Only wish the MHT ran its concessions in the morning as a coffee before the show... More
