The park sits on the north shore of Canandaigua Lake. There is a very small swimming area that charges for entry, if you can believe it. Another idiotic example of how to run a park badly is the carry in, carry out policy. That means there are zero garbage cans available in a city park. And that's what you get for your massive taxes here in Canandaigua. Equally insulting to tourists and locals!

This park was small and quaint. Loved the large swing. For such a small park, there was a jungle gym for kids but I have a teenage daughter. The view is absolutely breathtaking. It is near water rentals but my family isn't into that. We just enjoyed the view. Most people wore masks and social distanced. Absolutely gorgeous.

This was our go to spot for taking our paddle boards out on the lake. There are two launch areas with nearby parking. The lot and street spots fill up on the weekends but we had no issues finding close parking during the week. We own our boards but there seemed to be plenty of options for rentals. The bathrooms at the swimming area were clean and convenient. There are several picnic tables and grassy areas to sit and hang out on.

Kershaw Park is a great little park right on the lake. Has many things to do and huge areas to just hang out, have a cook out or to just lie in the sun. Water access is easy. What a great place to spend some time while in Canandaigua.

Great place to stop and swim. Sunbathe or just enjoy the view. Very clean and washrooms available. Kayak and sup rentals were available. The grounds were very nice and lots of parking available. Will come back!

We rented a couple of kayaks and entered the lake at Kershaw Park. Easy access for kayaks or paddle boards.

Very nice park for strolling along the top (north) end of Canandaigua Lake in Central NY between Syracuse and Rochester. Consider going to the YMCA where there are walks routes available for 3 or 6 miles in the town and parks, provided by America's Walking Club, and including the park.

seems to be the only place for the public to enjoy the lake. Nice but needs to be bigger and have much more parking.

Take a stroll along Kershaw Park that sits on the north end of beautiful Canandaigua Lake, rent a kayak, swim or have a picnic. Walk along the pier and enjoy a beer at one of the local breweries or have an ice cream. Don’t forget to take your camera to capture the rolling hills of the south end of the lake, historic boathouses or the many boaters enjoying a relaxing day. If you have time, the Canandaigua Lady steamboat tour on the lake gives you a the full vista of Kershaw Park and the many gorgeous homes along the lake.

Where do you park for the beach
Written 1 August 2017
There are plenty of parking spots along the road and right at the beach, there is a small lot.
Written 1 August 2017
Yes, on a leash. There is also a small beach area to the East side of the park where pets can swim. Get there early in the morning as it can get busy.
Written 10 December 2016
Yes, There are a few available. Make sure to look at them on a map first. Some of them at the East side of the park are very close to the road.
