We visited The New York Wine and Culinary Center to join up with friends for lunch at their Upstairs Bistro. The Center is located by Canandaigua Lake and the Bistro overlooks the lake. It is a lovely building, housing a wine and spirits tasting room, teaching kitchen, observation kitchen, gift shop as well as several dining rooms. The Center offers... More

The Finger Lakes wine region is phenomenal and this little stop really showcases the region with a variety of local products. Great tasting room offering a variety of wines from local vintners, including the Ice Wine unique to this area.

We had our first wine tasting here 6 years ago, and that positive experience launched our interest in visiting wineries around the country. Today's visit, however, was not as enjoyable. In our experience, $9 for a tasting is out of line, although the samples were generous. Water was offered, but no cheeses or crackers. Our sommelier seemed uninformed, and the... More

We were a large group of about thirty and had appetizers and cocktails in the bar/reception area. We then were taken to the demonstration dining room where the Executive Chef demonstrated some of the preparation/techniques used in the meal prepared for us. Service was very good and the chef was very knowledgeable. I thought it a very unique concept for... More

This is truly a unique venue on the shores of Canandaigua Lake. A non-profit culinary center dedicated to teaching people about, food, beverages and New York's growing wine, beer and spirits industries. We started with a wine tasting in the tasting bar--you can sample pretty much anything that is made in NYS: distilled spirits, craft beers and a diverse collection... More

I have been to the Culinary Center before, but went this time with my family. We ate at the Upstairs Bistro which has a great view of Lake Canandaigua and has a good menu. They have a great selection of are wines from the other lakes. There is outdoor sitting as well as small rooms that can be used for... More

Food was delicious. But slow and not warm. They did make her a fresh salmon after hers came out room temperature. Did I mention I was still hungry after 60 bucks.
