This is a challenging trail but worth the work. You have to be in good shape and wear good hiking shoes. I also do not suggest doing it alone. There is one area with a lot of rocks you have to climb over. It's an Albuquerque favorite trail and there is race on it each year.

The trail goes all the way to the top of the Sandia Mountains and is excellent for high altitude training or a family day hike or picnic.

This is a fabulous hike, (not for the beginner) well maintained trail, great views of Albuquerque, take lots of water, and a camera, you might see wildlife. Start early it gets hot at the bottom and can be cool at the top. One of my favorite hikes in nm.
