I looked at the map of Pinion Beach and assumed it was surrounded by water as the map illustrates. It wasn't...seemed the only way to get to water was to use a boat ramp in the distance but that's only for boats. Not sure how/where...More

We stayed here for 3 days! It was a little windy but all the campgrounds that are up on a mesa seem to be that way. Had electric and water. Good place to walk our dogs. Hot showers. Great place to stay as we travel...More

We really enjoyed the road around El Vado Lake. Scenery was beautiful as was seeing birds & other wildlife. Definitely need a 4wd vehicle. Road signs/directions were lacking but we used a compass and topographical map.

I would guess the lake is at 1-5% of what it used to be. There's hardly anything there now! We were going to camp there but everything is run down, and elected to keep driving instead.
