When you finish up a week of skiing, National monuments, fine-dining, family game nights, and museum hopping, and your children say the best part of Taos was "the llamas", you know you made a good choice. We were so fortunate to book a "take a llama to lunch" tour the week before our trip was scheduled to depart. As the... More

Thank you so much for the fantastic, detailed review. I love to hear the "llamas" were the best part. Thank you for appreciating Stuart (the head Llama) as well! So glad that the kids enjoyed bonding with their llamas, The llamas enjoy them too! Happy Summer! More

What a wonderful trip! We hiked down about 3 miles round trip down to 800ft into a valley and back at a leisurely pace. The llamas were so gentle and so much fun. Our children had a blast and leading the llamas made the hike more enjoyable. It was the highlight of our overall trip to New Mexico. Stuart was... More

We had a really great time snowshoeing and sleeping in a yurt. It was so beautiful to snowshoe to the top of the peak and Stuart was the best guide. We never felt rushed and were able to stop to take photos (and breathe as it is a higher elevation). He has a wealth of knowledge about nature and history... More

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review. You had some seriously cold temps, good job! I'm so glad to hear that braving it was worth while. I'm sure the cozy fire in the yurt helped too. Enjoy the rest of your winter. Maybe we'll see you in the summer! More

We backpacked with Stewart and his llamas on his last trip of the season the end of Sept 2016. It was a beautiful time of year with crisp temperatures and the aspens changing in the Carson National Forest located outside of Taos. My husband had heard of Stewart while backpacking at Glacier and he was highly recommended. The Llamas carry... More

This review is for a half-day snowshoe tour (no llamas). It was my first time in snowshoes and Stuart was an amazing guide, taking us on a 4-hour tour of the Carson National Forest. It was a beautiful day with sun and fresh snow. Stuart kept a good pace while making sure we were all doing okay. Being my first... More

Hiking down to the Rio Grande with Stuart and his llamas is the most peaceful adventure you'll probably ever take. Such a nice guy, full of energy and knowledge. It's obvious he loves what he's doing, I'm more than a little jealous. Oh, and the man offers up a fine lunch.

Fun day hiking with Loki and the rest of Stuart's llamas. Stuart's passion for his herd and the outdoors is contagious. A very well guided hike and unique experience. A must do when you visit Taos!

Have done this trip a couple of times with grandkids. Hikes are led by a naturalist that provides allot of information about the environment and the Llamas. We did the "Lunch with a Llama" trips and the lunches were very good. Kids get to lead their own Llama and get to learn allot about them while enjoying a leisurely hike... More

Thank you so much for your thoughtful insight into the trek, and the great review. You're right about March being a bit on the chilly side some years. We're going to start opening mid March to avoid uncomfortable days. We look forward to hiking with you and your family again (in the summer). Happy Thanksgiving!! More
