This was a stop on our Tauck tour of New Mexico. Nice plaza featuring everything from fancy to casual food. Some stores are 5 and dime style with fake Southwest products made in China or India, but others feature actual handmade by native American Indians jewelry, pottery, beadwork, etc. Know your products.

Very cool area and a spot to explore. Construction was a bummer and a few places not open. Found a few nice souvenir shops and the Gorge was an excellent lunch.

Many shops closed. Construction on the plaza. Disappointing food, atmosphere. La Fonda was a huge disappointment for us. Nothing really to offer. Very different than the one in Santa Fe.

We visited Taos with our adult children from Dubai. Have not be here in quite awhile. Went to the Plaza for a stop. Looks like they are repairing one building and the center area. This could be a great attraction if cleaned up and decorated like the plazas in Europe. Parking is limited but you can park across the highway for free. Sort of a disappointment

Very disappointed in the condition of the sidewalks and curb cuts around the plaza area. As a person who uses a wheelchair, this made it downright painful to explore the area. Also, the public restrooms in the alley by the Cantina are deplorable. The door to the mens' room requires the strength of the Hulk to open and the accessible toilet is blocked by a hugh trash bin. Taos hates the disabled. Change my mind.

Very disappointed in Taos as a whole. It was very crowded with limited things to do or see. As well, the majority of the shops were tourist souvenirs made who knows where.

We rented a two bedroom house in El Prado just outside of Taos. It was a very nice place and convenient to both Taos and the Taos Ski Resort. We got to ski four days. The ski resort got about 19 inches of snow while we were there. Overall, a very good ski trip.

This is the historic centre of Taos and quite confusing when you first arrive. Many cars are trying to park around the plaza itself - there is a car park just nearby but it is not very well signposted. We managed to get a space and then you put coins in a metre. The whole area would be better protected by being car free and having a large clearly marked car park nearby. The plaza is a bit tacky with tourist shops but there are a few nice shops too.

Fun place to visit. Lots of ships and dining, surrounding a grassy plaza with shelters.
Just off the main highway, but pretty much unchanged over the decades.

I visited the plaza on July 28th 2022 and it was an awful experience. As I tried to find parking on a nearby street, one of the locals in his construction vehicle decided that I was driving too slowly and following me aggressively and honking at me at every stop sign. He tried to cut me off and nearly hit my vehicle before racing off. The Taos locals are awful and rude people. You will find friendlier folks in New York City. I will NEVER return to Taos ever again.
