We attended a jazz performance and was impressed by the fantastic acoustics and great seating. There are no bad seats in the theater. The staff and patrons were friendly and there was room to dance in front of the stage. The performers encouraged everyone to enjoy themselves and dance to their music. I did not see a show here, but toured the facility. It's out in the middle of nowhere, but is worth the drive. They offer tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00. It's a beautiful theater, and the tour takes you on stage, backstage, into the dressing rooms, through the kitchen, etc., and it's free. The tour takes a bit... More

This state-of-the-art performance center is world class! From the minute you enter this architecturally beautiful building, you feel an air of excitement. The entire crew welcomes you into a magical space even before you enter the theater. Every performance I have seen here is fabulous....Broadway touring musicals, Van Cliburn gold medalists, ballet, tribute bands, etc. It's a don't miss experience!

A wonderful place to visit. They always have different things going on, for every taste. I saw the tribute for the Bee Gee's, that was great! Also the tribute for the Eagles, they were fantastic.

I first went to the Spencer Theater on a school field trip and had so much fun I went back for a another performance with my 23yr. old son. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour (on 2 Apr 2015) of this unique theater in Alto, a beautiful community north of Ruidoso. Our guide was outstanding. We were visiting Ruidoso and when our son was an architecture student, they visited this theater. So my husband and I decided to see if we could have a look at it while we were in the neighborhood. Was privileged to see Lee Greenwood in concert in August 2014. Awesome venue. One of the best concerts I've been to in a long time.

Saw Broadway Tenors Oct 26, 2014. Gorgeous venue, not a bad seat in the house. Such a wonderful resource for this area of New Mexico, which is sparsely populated. Go there, and enjoy!

Comfortable seats, architecturally interesting and a gracious staff make this a good bet for a show. Decent touring companies for the most part and a gorgeous location make this venue worth aa detour.
