We have stopped at this mission several times. We were lucky enough to visit once when the parishioners were putting new adobe on the mission. They report that they do this once per year...on the church and garden walls. The inside of the church is simple but beautiful. There is ample parking for visitors and there is a small but... More

If you love taking pictures of churches, you'll love this old church. I went to English mass on Sunday at 10:00am.

This is such a beautiful church, and it has such a great history. Not to mention it is so cool to see a church that has been painted by Georgie O'Keefe and photographed by Ansel Adams, among many other artists. It was built in the 1700's and is simply beautiful. You can't take pics inside, but go inside and look... More

You don't have to be an artist or photographer to take advantage of this marvelous adobe masterpiece, but it is nice to bring home those memories via sketch-pad or photo library.

Really nothing to see except the building and reading the history. Pass it on your way in or out of town.

If you have an interest in historic architecture or churches, stop and see this gem. Built in late 1700's. Well preserved. Lovely altar area.

I loved this place. The San Francisco de Assisi Mission Church is a beautiful historic landmark. Totally worth your visit if you are in the Taos area. Its Adobe style architecture is reminiscent of all the Spanish missions in New Mexico.

This is a truly lovely church in traditional adobe style. The adobe needs to be renewed yearly so there is usually some mud and straw exposed. As a result of this adobe process the architectural lines of the church are beautifully gentle. It's a real gem!

This is an awesome left-over of the Spanish conquest of Mexico. The inside of the church is open and is beautifully simple.

There are so many historical and note worthy activities of this church, it would-be a crime if you were near Ranchos de Assisi Mission Church and did not stop. Less than a half hour worth of your time will give you a life time worth of conversation to others about this church. It took about 40 years of construction to... More
