My husband and I had a wonderful time hiking the Dripping Springs trail in the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument. The trail was wide and had some small loose rocks. We were careful not to lose our footing on the way back (downhill). The...More

Need to get out of the city? This is an easy day trip. Make sure to take the back loop and go off the beaten path to see the waterfall. Great little bit of history, but do it on a cool day/morning.

We camped on the other side of the mountains, which we really enjoyed. It's a long drive around to get to the other side, but we liked the different angle too. More interesting from a historical perspective, though the Aguirre Springs side was prettier.

Great loop hikes for you and the children. If you are looking for something a little more serious, it's available. The volunteers working the Center are super nice and want to help. Let them know what you want to do and they'll steer you right.

Great area near the New Mexico Farm and Ranch museum. Great view of the "A" for Aggies on the hill with several paths for the students to hike the hill.

Dripping Springs had excellent views and the trails (although the boys went "off" trail) were excellently placed. The interpretive signs were also very helpful. Easy to get closeups of cactus flowers, but watch where you step!
