We live in the area and have visited the Bisti and De Naz Zin many many times and highly recommend as it's not like any other place or hike most people have done. No trails so you're on your own so as mentioned in others...More

This unique wilderness area is worth the trip! Make sure you bring a GPS or, at the very least, a compass and plenty of water. There is no shade or shelter and it's very easy to lose your way. We spent four hours hiking around...More

First , the pros: - simply put you can't find anything like the Cracked Eggs anywhere else. To me that alone deserve to be on the Bucket List. -The hike is pretty easy if you go around the hills and not climbing over any. -...More

We had read a review of this location and ventured out to hike it early one morning while staying in Farmington. I highly recommend it (take plenty of water and salty snacks). However, I would not recommend this hike alone. Take a partner. You can...More

A magical, otherworldly place, but no shade. Bring water, salty snacks, and wear a hat. The Visitor Center/ Museum in Farmington has a map with GPS coordinates so you can find the high points to visit readily. Reading other ratings, I way pointed my car...More

Disappointing. Can see most of this from the highway. Wonder why it's on the map as someplace special.

I loved exploring this very off the wall location. The rock formations were amazing. Just fun getting out and walking around. We went the mile or so past the parking lot for some great formations. Also climbing some of the rock formations to get a...More

We visited Bisti to photograph hoodoos. The gravel road (11 miles of it) lead to a gravel area for parking. A book to sign in/out is at the trailhead. We followed the unmarked path easily from the parking area to the rim of the dry...More

We recently spent an afternoon wandering around the Bisti Wilderness. Other reviewers have described this amazing place in detail so I don't really need to try to explain it further. Prior to going there, I had a hard time finding information about its logistics, only...More

Great area but hard to find what I'm looking for. Started on the right side and the next time I'm going to the left (north) side.

The reason others list are very good advice. Easy to wander into a spot where nobody sees you, Cant trust the trail register so let someone know where you are always. Plan your hike when there are others around and... More

By following the wash upstream, you will see some hoodoos within a mile or so. The wash is fairly level and easy walking.
