We had such a wide ranging conversation with Christopher, that we never did get around to discussing his wonderful collection of geodes. The self described 'geode kid' has led a fascinating life, and is very willing to share his life lessons and self taught knowledge of rocks, history and just about anything. As he said, he's more interested in making... More

Be prepared to learn a lot about rocks. The owner is a walking encyclopedia and has some beautiful pieces. He's been there a long time and the building was built just for the museum. Neat place to visit if you have the time.

This was a stop that was well worth the time. There's a lot of various types of rocks & gemstones for sale outside, in their rough state. If you like cutting and polishing this is for you. Venture inside for display and possibilly the purchase of some finished rocks. Be prepared for receiving some education as well! You'll likely learn... More

This place has the best selection of local thunder eggs aka geodes ever seen. They have their own claim where they dig geodes out of the ground.

Colorful guys totally dedicated to geode mining, processing, display and sales operate this museum slash store. We love to check out the great display. These guys are living encyclopedias on all topics geode. Highly recommended.

This tiny museum is completely owned and operated by a disabled Viet Nam war veteran who loves rocks. He lives inside the museum building with his cat and he can bend your ear about life philosophy for an hour while you check out all his geodes. He will educate you and sell you his geodes, but he also takes donations... More

If you're a rockhound, and have any interest in geodes and thundereggs, don't miss visiting this museum and talking to the two fellows who are world renown experts in the field. Buy a specimen or two to take home. Most of their geodes are mined locally.

Too many times we waste our time watching mindless tv or allowing our children to play limitless video games. It takes a little effort to find our museums and fill their minds with information that later can help them in school or their life!

This is a fascinating little museum right near the entrance to the "Rockhound State Park" in Deming. See the fabulous geode collection at the Deming Museum in downtown Deming then head on out to see the fascinating geologists at this little museum on the side of the road. Filled with rocks inside and out from various local New Mexican mineral... More

The two gentlemen that run this establishment are incredibly knowlegable!! My brother and sister-in-law have lived near them for 6 yrs, and each visit I make sure and stop to buy some of their beautiful cut rocks!! If you are a frustrated rockhound, plan on spending alot of time here! It is from the outside a small building, but don't... More
