What a great place to check out on a day trip. Not far from Deming, where I was working temporarily, and on the way to Silver City. This is great place to stop for a walk amongst these rock formations, to get some cool pictures...More

A great place to get out and explore. Gorgeous photo ops. We just made a pit stop but felt like we were able to a lot as the formations are close together

We had been based at the Grant County airport (Silver City) for the last two months. The City of Rocks is less than ten miles from the airport, but there had been too many other things to see on our day off and we hadn't...More

We camp or visit city of rocks several times of year. Great place to camp, especially with large groups. Very friendly employees and extremely clean and well maintained. A must see, unique and beautiful place

Definitely in my top 5 favorite places in New Mexico, maybe top 20 life-time. Very cool place to explore and completely amazing campsites nestled among the rock formations. Great facilities, including a couple of clean, free showers, but no supplies with 30 minutes, so come...More

I told my young adult kids we were stopping at a "rock park" and they did not seem to enthused. When we got there they took off and started climbing on all the rocks and taking pictures. We had 6 of them with us and...More

After miles of low rolling terrain, featureless except for an occasional "mountain", you come to this tightly packed collection of fifty foot tall, upright boulders. From a distance, there are no boulders, then the park, then none again. The boulder field is essentially encircled by...More

I've visited this part of New Mexico many times, but until this trip, I passed right by this amazing park. It was formed 35,000,000 ago by a huge volcanic eruption that was 1000 times bigger than Mt.St. Helens. It's a must see for anyone who...More

My family visited this place, and it's absolutely stunning! You can drive through or take a walk through the rocks. You can even climb on them! My family and I had a blast. If you have the time, they have campsites available as well. The...More

Though the park isn't that big, I find it incredibly beautiful. Really kool large boulder rocks creating a "city" with "streets" that run through it. Sometimes the rocks create perfect "thrones" you can sit and relax in. Or huge rabbit looking structures. Let your imagination...More

A couple of hours would be plenty. That being said, we felt as though we would like to camp there at a future date as it is so unique.
