The visit to Kruja castle offers a good insight into the history around Skanderberg, a national hero born in Kruja. There is not much to see anymore of the old castle, but it is still a nice walk up there. When there it is also...More

The drive up was past some bunkers and the climb was steep. No wonder this castle proved hard to take by enemies. We wandered the area and climbed up to the castle. The panoramic view is worth a little climb.

One of the best preserved albanian historical place. It is not near the Tirana, more than an hour bus ride, very narrow road on some spots but after you come you will say immediately, it’s worst, Nothing to add but to say pay a visit...More

There are only ruins of the castle and a museum at the top of the hill but lovely views. The walk up is steep but you pass through nice wee market streets . The Skanderberg museum is quite interesting .

It is not so much the castle which makes a visit here worthwhile but the whole Kruje experience. Kruje castle stands on a Crag overlooking the plain below with wide views. Within the walls there are 2 museums and the approach there is a cobbled...More

Not much left, just a closed tower and part of the walls, bit very close to the museum where we were and excellent views of Kruje and its surroundings.

The castle itself is a ruin, but the view is fabulous. You can see all the way to the Adriatic. No wonder Skanderbeg picked this spot.

While I understand the importance of this place to Albanian history, there are much more impressive sites even in Albania. The castle looks impressive from outside, but once inside you realize there isn't much here. Throw in the fact that there's a mood killing modern...More

My visit to this place was a great experience. it is well maintained with a stone road and shops on both sides that sells hand crafted and other merchandise. You pass the shops on your way to the castle so try and pop in, take...More

I've found that historical attractions in Albania often lack for historical information or context, but Kruja castle has a small museum dedicated to Skanderbeg, a national hero. There are some interesting artifacts there, and limited info in English. The views from atop the castle are...More

There is a museum in the castle. The entrance fee was about € 3 per person, but I can't remember it exactly anymore. The children had to pay as well.
