This is a great area to visit. Lovely views, quaint cobbled streets and we visited a lovelyl church. At one time there were 42 here but now only two exist.

We came to Berät because of the Ottoman houses. As we were already there we went up to the castle. The path is fairly steep and a bit slippery but easy to handle when fit ;) We expected to pay entrance to walk around the...More

The fortress can be reached by food and the road is made with stones. You can see the river and the city of Berat. Inside the fortress there are too many churches to visit

The views are worth the hike up to the top, but avoid the white stones which are incredibly slippery, both in the fortress and in town. There is a lovely Church at the top

This is a fortress where folks still live in. It was nice to be able to see how it functioned many years ago. It has beautiful spots where you can take pictures of the whole city.
