We visited on a lovely sunny Sunday so we expected the temple to be quite busy. We had heard it was a must see in nakon city and we were not disappointed. We were delighted to find there a free to enter museum at the temple with some English signage( better than none!)

This is one of the main attractions in Nakon Sri Thammarat. It is famous for it's Budda's foot located on the premises, the road to the Phra Mahathat Woramaha Wiharn has been redone and constant construction round the area is making it more pleasurable for travelers and locals alike. Yearly running race brings out all the runners for a quick... More

Lots to see in this temple and easy to park for those driving. One of the original sites of Buddhism in Thailand.

Very popular for most Thais, but saw only a few Westerners. Not much information available for anyone other than Thai and no signs in English. The main stupa/chedi was under construction, so not the best for photographers. The smaller chedis, however, were quite nice. Area layout was rather confusing, but once we found one of the museums, it was quite... More

Impressive Wat with historical buildings, stupa and museum - steeped in history & culture. Souvenir shops and a food outlet are also to be found here. A Nakhon Si Thammarat highlight.

It is defiantly worth taking a look at if you are in the neighborhood. However, have you already seen other Temples around Thailand, especially Bangkok, it wouldn't be mind blowing.

the chedi are great things to see, the museum inside the temple are well worth the visit; overall place is good for first-time visitors and historical buffs.

I must say that I'm not big fan of historical or religious sites but this temple is worth of visit! It is not huge from size but very well restored and gorgeous. If just possible, go with an licensed guide who is familiar with history and story of Thai Buddhism and you'll truly understand something.
