Underwhelming. I was looking forward to the boats and it was such a long way but it was really quite underwhelming. Was very quiet not very resort like and underwhelming.

We a group of 18 in Yongo tour. This lake is captivatingly beautiful after seeing all the brown and bare desolate landscape
We came here in April but despite the temperature being 3-4C, the sun light is really scorching. ( thats the reason for the 3 stars)
We had a boat ride round the lake, using the colourful long wooden boats. Unfortunately its not covered and we were really scorched and to top it all, the boat’s diesel engine is placed at the side of the boat, making what supposed to be a peaceful serene glide on the turquoise water a noisy diesel fume experience ( thats another reason for the 3 stars)
But despite all the above we all had a great time and if you are contemplating a visit here please do come !

Rooted from tragic accident, yet still leaves it charming and calming beauty of the lake. Love the turquoise color that compliment with might mountains. It's so picturesque as if you are in the postcard itself!

1st visit to attabad lake was around 6pm onwards on mid September, it was freaking cold 🥶with the strong wind blowing , we can’t stand the cold weather so decided to come back again tomorrow morning around 11am onwards which was so much better .. calm and warm weather to take the boat 🚤 ride for 7 adults which cost 3,500pkr per boat for 30 minutes ride .. it was nice the color of the lake which was glacier water . Just that I don’t really like the steep walk down to take the boat .. so scary .. not much protection , no real stairs and hand railing .. got safety issue ..

The boat rides are a leisurely day out for kids.

The scenery is ok, but there are better options in the general area if nature is your thing.

All in all, only worth it if you want to do the specific activities on the lake.

Attabad lake is a much hyped about place but really not worth the trip if that is is the sole goal of your travel. That said, it’s dramatic history can still be witnessed by the top of the trees still growing. Hunza sports so many other beautiful lakes at prettier locations. The water is indeed as blue as you can see on the numerous pictures, as is the colour of the other lakes. The lake is still clean but with hotels and restaurants coming up, it’s fate maybe that of Saif ul Muluk.
