The USS Liberty Wreck is the most famous dive site in Bali. It is also one of the best sunken ship wrecks in the world! If you come to Bali, you absolutely have to dive there The liberty ship was hit by a Japanese torpedo then was beached near Tulamben. In 1963, the eruption of Mount Agung caused the vessel to slip off the beach, and it now lies on a sand slope in 9 to 30 m of water. The wreck is about 130 m long with the shallowest part at about 5 m deep and the deepest on the other side of the wreck at about 30 m deep.

The snorkelling here is absolutely amazing! So many different fish, eels, starfish it just exceeded my expectations. This location is filled with schools of fish. It was an incredible experience. The best part is it is so close to shore you can swim to it. I would love to return and try scuba diving to see more. This is a... More

Easy diving. The wreck is resting in shallow water and one can easily go between some of the superstructures that are not enclosed.

Took a trip from CandiDasa to Amed stopping on the way at the wreck which is only about 100 metres from the shore. A major attraction for snorkeling and divers. Whilst we didn't dive there was plenty of activity by those who did. If you are into snorkeling and diving this is one

With snorkel equipment it is very hard to see more than small parts of it. Nevertheless we enjoyed the big variety of fish and the calm atmosphere at the beach.

Easy access and a great drive. Suitable for all divers. Best in the early morning before lots of tourists arrive. Lots of fish, eels and things to see.

We've been here for a discover scuba dive together with diving teachers. The wrack leans upwards, so you can see much from different depths. But I don't know if it's close enough to the surface for snorkeling. Anyway there's a lot to see: really big fishes, garden eels, turtles, lots of corals, snails and so on. It' worth a trip!

Cool dive with interesting history. Can have strong currents. Can swim through the wreck in some places.

It's big wreck from ww2 era. Nice to have a dive there. No/small current only. Lot of sea creatures due to this wreck. It is a shore dive. Becarfull though lot of stone on the beach, take caution when entering the water y can fall and hit yourself with the stones.

We did only snorkeling at this location and yet enjoyed it very much! Some parts of the wreck are not that deep so in the day with good visibility (during our stay usually before 11am) you can truly enjoy yourself. Not only you get to see the wreck but also nice corals and many fish! Two nights at this place... More

Excellent wreck. Big schools of fish, very large groupers hiding in the hull, and overall a very interesting large wreck to explore. A few modest options for penetrations for qualified wreckdivers. Some swim-throughs. We dived it in low season - and there were many divers present, most of whom had very poor buoyancy, gopros, selfie sticks and ill fitting equipment.... More
