This former government building, an architectural treasure in itself, is now a museum containing some impressive artifacts. Particularly noteworthy is a collection of late 18th and early 19th century Cape furniture.

Museum comprises several buildings and grounds showing the history of Swellendam. Could do with better interpretation though. Definitely worth seeing if you're in Swellendam.

Interesting museum with lots of authentic rooms showing life in days gone by. Very helpful staff. The museum is spread over a few buildings and we found it all very good. Nice to take it all in slowly and wander around leisurely.

Swellendam is the third oldest town in South Africa. The Drosdy museum demonstrates the Great history of the town. You need about 2 hours to explore. Thus us a must experience for local South African people and tourists alike
