I always wanted to go to Die Hel and was not disappointed. The journey was definitely worth it. We travelled by bike. The pass, the proteas, it was just worth it over and over! We camped - facilities are very basic, but there’s warm water...More

We visited the area last year and were awed by the scenery of the Swartberg Pass. That paled into insignificance compared to Die Hel! It's not a road for your run of the mill hire car; you need a 4x4 and even then it can...More

Drove through the beautiful pass and arrived at die Hel midday. the restaurant was quiet and we did not feel extremely welcome. The menu was average and the coffee as well. The town was very interesting.

We had a camping booking with Cape Nature for 3 nights. The trip down to 'Die Hel' is certainly a rough ride especially towing an-off road camping trailer. We were aware of the time it takes to cover the 48kms down so were well prepared....More

Boplaas is at the western end of Gamkaskloof, otherwise known as Die Hel. (Boplaas is not to be confused with Fonteinplaas at the eastern end of Gamkaskloof) Our group of six friends stayed in the historic Oom Hannes's cottage which is as comfortable inside as...More

This was our first overnight stay on our 6-day cycle tour in and around the Swartberg Mountains. Die Kliphuis is a lovely and very comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed piping hot showers after our long day's cycling from Prince Albert, and in...More
