This pass if gorgeous and the terrain is different than the valley below. If you carry on 10 more minutes to see the Dam, you'll understand just how dire the water situation is in SA right now

Unless it is a very cloudy day, you are guaranteed some brilliant pictures across the entire Franschhoek valley from the road. You need to drive through Franschhoek and turn left at the Huguenot monument. Drive on for a couple of miles - beware of baboons...More

Great views of a rather parched Franschhoek and dry as a bone lake. Although amazing so needs rain!!! Not as spectacular a drive as Chapmans Peak but still impressive.

This was a nice drive it’s not difficult just use common sense. We felt very safe. Watch out for motor bikes there so fast !

Driving the Franschhoek Pass provides great views of the Franschhoek and the surrounding vineyards. The road is frequently cliff-side with no guardrails so a bit of a white-knuckle drive for those that are challenged bu heights.
