The reserve protects the largest and most dense cedar forest of cedar in Lebanon (625ha). The cedars accounts for more than 80% of the total number of trees exceed 2,500,000 trees. Other trees that can be found are oaks, junipers and maples living all together. The unique geography and topography of the forest protected the forest from human exploitation.
