We have been to McCarter countless times Maybe once to see a show at the Berlind were we disappointed. We are looking forward to starting anew with a new director and a new lineup of shows and music. The questions below were somewhat foolish. The last time were at McCarter was in November 2019. We been there with friends and many times it was just the two of us.
If i may digress for a moment. The lineup under Emily Mann was somewhat fuddy duddy meaning very old school with the same shows coming back year after year. We have seen some outstanding musical offerings like the Do Wop Project; A night with Janice Joplin was incredible; Million Dollar Quartet etc. I hope the offerings under the new director improve and expand., none the less we will return!!!

A beautiful theater where one can see the best variety of talent like Nutcracker, Baryshinikov, Ben Vereen, and Madame Butterfly.

Didn’t particularly like the show we saw (Isaac Mizrachi) which was pretty old school and boring, but the theater itself is lovely with good seating and acoustics. Hard to find parking nearby, so need to plan accordingly if that’s how you plan to go there.

Fist time to this theatre to take my parents to see their favorite Christmas movie on stage, A Christmas Carol. The production was unbelievable! It was so good that you lost track of time. I would not hesitate to take a ride to this theatre again. It is located in an adorable little area that is easy to find and has adequate parking.

We have been McCarter subscribers for years and this was definitely one of the best. The acting was incredible--true stage performers. The venue itself is great--easy parking, access to many good restaurants, extremely friendly staff.

I have been to McCarter theatre several times. The theater is small and good viewing from every seat is possible. Parking in the evenings is easy but for a matinee it might be tough. Princeton is a lovely area to walk in as well.

Just saw Looking Glass Theatre Company’s Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein last night. It was amazing!’ It was a theatre in the round so there were seats on all four sides of the stage. The acting was wonderful. You felt like you were a part of the production. We want to go again!

This is a great venue at the heart of Princeton! Staff is great and the space is perfect for pré-show gathering or side events. The theater room is spacious and seating distance is decent. I wish the had parking to make the experience even better.

I have been a subscriber at McCarter Theatre for many years and have rarely been disappointed by the program. It houses two venues under one roof, the Berlind, a smaller and more intimate theater, and the Matthews where large performances are being held.
Many famous performers make a stop between Philadelphia and New York City as it is halfway between the two cities. Often, a theater piece premieres in Princeton and then goes on to Broadway. Whether music, dance, drama, or comedy - you can find great entertainment here.

First time at McCarter Theatre. What a show. Been wanting to see Momix for many years and it did not disappoint. The performances were mesmerizing and spectacular. The venue was excellent and parking at the nearby West Parking lot was convenient and free.

What is appropriate to wear? Is there a dress code? What do we wear?

No, there's not a dress code. I'd say wear casual date-night clothes.

It is my first time to your theatre. Is viewing good from all seats or which locations do you highly recommend?

As noted, the McCarter is a relatively small theater and all of the seats are good. I prefer on the aisle in orchestra but also like the first row of the balcony. The acting is always excellent in the plays, which are my preference.
Please what's the rate

Ticket prices vary with the play/event and performance selected. Range is varied as little as $25 for some plays/performances to about $60-$80 depending on day, seats selected, etc. McCarter Theatre Center has a great easy to use website to answer all your questions. McCarter is a professional theater w/plays, music, dance events. They have won a Tony for best regional theater and for the recent "Vanya, and Sonya and Shasha and Spike." Easier to travel to and certainly much more cost effective than NYC.
