Growing up, we went to Wildwood. As I started my own family, we continued to go to Wildwood- and then did a few summers in Florida. We decided one year to give Ocean City, New Jersey a try. We loved it. It is a dry...More

Come here for the sunrise. It is gorgeous. Don't forget to bring money becasue along the beach you will find a wooden boardwalk where a lot of restaurants and gift and amusements shops are located.

We have been coming down to Ocean City, NJ for many years. There is always something to do on the beach and boardwalk. From the sights and sounds of the ocean, to the boardwalk entertainment, Ocean City is the number one family destination.

Ocean City is a fantastic location to visit and not a bad place to live. It is quite crowed weekends in the summer but rather nice in the off season. Summer parking can be a problem and parking laws are strictly enforced. Summers bring lots...More

Ocean City beach staff, I live an hour one way from Ocean city but drive this 3 times a week to enjoy the beach with family and friends. I come even on rainy days just for the shopping and restaurants. But this year has been bitter experience due to the over crowing of personal tents, easy ups and other over sized family forts. I want people to enjoy the beach as well but feel some sort of enforcement needs to be put in place to regulate this issue. Either band them all together, charge people per shelter a 20.00 seasonal fee or 11.00 daily fee for these oversized shelters when they pitch tents on the beach for the day, or make them place the apparatuses toward the back of the beach where the public isn't at harm when the winds pick up and make these a dangerous projectile. I have been hit twice now by flying umbrellas and a shelter that wasn't properly tied down when the wind instantly kicked up. These are dangerous and need to be addressed. If people had to pay this fee it could go back into ocean city and perhaps the people would be a little more responsible when setting them up. Smoking and drinking is going on out in the open now and these shelters are not the issue when it comes to this problem. The issue seems to be going on between the life guards, I'm on the beach usually by 8 am and don't leave till around 5pm and it is clear that the beach is not being patrolled when the open containers of alcohol and smoking are clear and present. I am very disappointed this year but know that you will look into this and make some sort of decision to better serve and protect your patrons.
