Everyone talks about big churches but forgets that most of us do not have weddings that can pack a St. Patrick's cathedral. This lovely chapel, steeped in history and well-maintained, can make you feel significant in your quest for a service, concert or wedding. The organ is lively, the site is easily accessible and the stone building makes a spectacular back drop for pictures. The morning light is lovely in the back of building, where the landscaping adds softness to any candid or posed shot. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love walking around Kirkpatrick chapel. You do not see buildings like that anymore. The entire area is beautiful.

This chapel was designed by an African-American architecht. It has a little vely gothic feeling. The inside walls are painted a startling red. The organ is beautiful. Worth a visit if you can find parking.

We just had our wedding here at the beginning of June. Everything was exactly how we wanted it. We paid for the rehearsal and an extra hour for florist and musician set-up before the wedding. It was well worth it as we never had to wait for the chapel doors to open. The student was there early at our rehearsal and I had some bridal party members waiting in the chapel before I even arrived! She was very attentive and had everything set-up. Patrick is very informative and always gets back to you quickly. Yes, they have some "strict" rules about times but we had our wedding on a sunday so luckily no wedding was planned before or after ours. Highly recommend this venue for non-religious ceremonies of Rutgers grads!

Went back to visit because we were married there 46 years ago. It still has its historic charm and two beautiful stained glass windows: one of the signing of the Rutgers charter and one of the Last Supper. Lots of history and take a walk around the neighboring buildings which are also part of the "old" Rutgers campus. I think they still do weddings, but I don't know if you have to be a graduate of Rutgers. Lovely organ too!

Great acoustics - look for the annual Christmas in Carol and Song in early December - it sells out every season. Beautiful presentation by award winning choirs in a unique space.

Yes, he is the same guy who is in on the front of our $10. The chapel itself is a cute as can be. The history that surrounds this location in the middle of Rutgers college makes for more fun stroll.

This historic chapel, which dates back to 1873, is located in the heart of Rutgers University’s New Brunswick campus. As a Rutgers College alumni (Class of 1983!), this chapel will always be special to me. I remember the silent horror movies with the live organ performance by David Drinkwater that were a regular Halloween treat. However, the Sophia Astley Kirkpatrick Chapel is particularly special to me since my wife (Douglass College Class of 1981) and I were married here in 1988.

We recently returned to Kirkpatrick Chapel to attend the 2018 commencement ceremony of a friend who graduated from the New Brunswick Theological Seminary.

The visit brought back a lot of special memories! I was reminded of how beautiful a chapel this is inside and out. The gorgeous wood pews, arched wood ceiling and stunning stained glass are all well maintained. This is a great place to visit if you are in the area and is the perfect place for a memorable wedding.
