Went to see The illusionists and had a great time! The seats weren't the greatest but the show had us laughing and intrigued the whole time.

Nice hometown kind of feel. Theater is a nice size, but not to big so that young children have a good vantage point. Prices can be a little expensive, especially for children oriented shows. I would not advise back balcony seats for children.

The State Theater is always an enjoyable afternoon or evening. All the venues are top quality The one negative (for me) is the use of smart phones etc. filming the performances. The theater ALWAYS says no recording devices or cameras, but almost all patrons have the annoying lights, throughout the shows. I have seen concerts, comedy, history and various cultural... More

Excellent. Totally enjoyed this presentation of classic Patty B songs done acoustically at this venue. I will definitely look to attend future shows like this because I enjoyed the intimate setting.

Enjoyed another wonderful visit to the NJ State Theater, this time to hear the wonderful music of Ms Etheridge. Not a bad seat in the house!

The best local venue for famous symphonies, movies, plays and artists. The shows are phenomenal. We recently attended the classical season opener and enjoyed the Warsaw Symphony.

I usually go here for free movies during summer time. You can find many interesting and adorable films and performances here.

Excellent small venue. Would've rated higher but the parking stinks. It can be very confusing with the one way streets.

The State Theatre has spoiled me. There are many parking spots available around the building,. It really is easy in and easy out. The quality of the sound depends upon the band. Sometimes great and sometimes not so great. I recommend sitting up close for plays. We have found the sound for spoke word to be poor in the balcany... More

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra as always was excellent under the leadership of conductor Gemma New and the singing and dancing by Joan Hess and Kirby Ward was extraordinary. The State Theatre in New Brunswick is one great institution to support.
