The productions are done very well. You feel that you are part of the show. Many productions have gone onto Off Broadway Theater. Easy to get to, safe, and a very gracious staff.

Over years, we've had subscriptions, then been away, then come back for an occasional single play -- and we've never been less than delighted that such small-scale theater can be so good, so intelligent, so amusing, and so challenging.

The George Street Playhouse, housed in the former New Brunswick YMCA (no singing, please), showcases first-rate productions in an intimate setting. As a season subscriber for the past 6 years, we have seen many excellent plays, some of which have even moved to Broadway! I am always amazed and impressed by the great sets in this small venue. There are... More

what a waste of time there is no parking except for expensive parking garages there is oonly 4 handicapped spots shared by the three theatres that are next door to each other the show was ok but driving around for 40 minutes almost made me give up my tickets and go home what a waste of time

We did not like it. Ok, the performance by the 2 male actors was laudable, but, I sensed, the whole play was more about their abilities than anything else, - so they sang and pranced. It became tiring. The play itself is a blob of nothing, -who cares who shot the victim, none of the characters go beyond the shadow... More

A co- worker and I stayed at the Heldrich located conveniently across from the Playhouse and bought online tickets for opening night while in town for training at Rutgers. Purchasing tickets was easy and we were even able to use a coupon code from a flyer found in front of the theatre marketing the play we saw. Although it was... More

This is a great local theater where you can see high quality musical, comedy, and dramatic productions. It is small and intimate but their work is always awesome. It is amazing what the set designers create with the small stage. We have been subscribers for over 10 years where we attend 6 shows per year (October through April), and have... More
