We took a day trip to Campgaw to learn to ski. The placed was very crowded and the lines were long and disorganized. We purchased our package online, but, unfortunately we still had to wait on line for everything, including confirmation of the tickets and lessons. It would have been nice if those who were pre-purchased tickets could skip this... More

Took our 2 boys 8 and 12 for a 2 hour session of snow tubing and they had a blast. The staff was very friendly and professional. Be sure to get your lift tickets in advance as they fill up quickly. They limit each session to 180 people. There are lifts on both sides of the slope and the lines... More

I went to Campgaw mountain to have a fun night with my friends. One lady that worked the chair lift was not that nice. My friend by accident hit the rope to separate the lines and it fell. The lady started to yell at us in a rude way because of an accident. Then, she told my friend and I... More

Great place great snow very wide slope. But there isint a lot of slopes there is 1 big one we're you can start on different points of the mounted and a bunny slope and then like 3 tracks that turn of the main mountain. But it's a great place if your not a major skier

For a slope in the NJ foothills, it's fine. Avoid the obvious busy times, when the once-a-year crowd turn up, and get yourself a quick top-up without having to travel far. The top of the slope is steep enough to challenge beginners, but there's a get-off half way up. Go after a big snowfall and the little trails through the... More

Folks in the west don't consider the Ramapos mountains, but they are about the same height as the Ural Mountains. Local usage defines what a "mountain" is. Take N.J. Route 208 North to the Summit Avenue exit in Franklin Lakes. Turn left at the end of the ramp, following the sign for Franklin Lakes. At the next traffic light, turn... More

NOTE: This review is for hiking in Spring, not skiing / snowboarding. I went here for a hike over the weekend and it was enjoyable. I think if you're looking for mountains with viewpoints / rocky areas, go nearby to Ramapo Mountain State Forest or Norvin Green State Forest, but this was fun if you just want to fit in... More

Campgaw has been great for my boys who are beginners. The ski lessons are great as well as the snowboards. As my kids get better, the mountain isn't a good fit, but for beginners its awesome. It is close to us and so we can go during the week. We don't often go on the weekend because it is too... More
