Spent half a September day gently kayaking the shoreline of Round Valley Reservoir enjoying the company of about a half dozen Great Blue Herons. Quite, peaceful all of which makes for a great paddle. There's lots of parking, boat access is easy, and most folks...More

Not many places with this set up. You hike 3-6 miles to your site with primitive toilets and minimal water. There was only one water well working while we were there. We were told there was two, but there was one. Long walk to get...More

You are not allowed to swim anywhere in this area. Only one very small life guard area and you must pay to access. If you see people swimming in other areas here please call the police as they did to me :)

Easy trails alongside a picturesque reservoir. Remember to use your tick spray since it is heavily wooded. Pretty every season of the year. Great place to walk the dogs, but please, please, please remember that it is carry in/carry out. Bring your doggie bags.

Round Valley offers so much for outdoor fun--fishing, swimming, sailing (no speed boats), kayaking, canoeing, hiking, picnicking, and a great place to walk your dog. They even do scuba diving in the lake as it is very deep.

I do live about 1 mile from the reservoir, and there is a reason. I really enjoy the crystal clear water in the reservoir and the hiking trails that lead you through the Cushetunk Mountains. Fishing is a bit tough from shore. The level of...More

Holidays bring long lines at the entrance and many would-be visitors are turned away. They open at 8:00AM and there will be a line waiting then. Answer: the earlier the better!
