Pier C Park runs along the Hudson River and looks out over Manhattan. It is a beautiful area to walk, sit and visit, and/or play with the children. It is a well-designed and planned park. It has ample seating, wide open spaces, shaded seating, playground area (e.g., large slide), etc. The stunning views go from the Verrazano up along Manhattan to the GW Bridge. My husband and I love watching all of the activity on the Hudson – sail boats, cruise ships, ferry boats, water taxis, kayakers, and more!
Few NYC tourists think of visiting Hoboken. This is a shame. It is extremely easy to get to Hoboken – bus, PATH, or train. If you want incredible views of the City and want to take some stunning photographs, Pier C is a wonderful place to visit. Once you are in Hoboken, there are many restaurants along Frank Sinatra Drive. There are also a number of fantastic restaurants on Washington Street. (Hoboken is only one square mile so it is very easy to walk around.) You can also bring a picnic lunch to eat at several parks along the Hudson River in Hoboken. Here's another tip. Go to Hoboken to have breakfast or brunch at La Isla Restaurant on Washington Street. (Omar's Stuffed French Toast beat Bobby Flay in Throwdown!) Then, walk over to Pier C. Enjoy!

Loverly place to walk day or night for the views of NYC and a few odd characters who seem to frequent the area, all very harmless!

I live just behind this park and I take my son on walks here all the time. It has a play area (facing back toward Hoboken with side views on lower Manhattan) and a nice wide promenade and grassy area facing out toward the rest of the island.
It's a modern and generally clean place, especially with all the foot traffic. A few items to watch:
1. There's often a pot smell from people vaping cannabis wafting around especially on the weekends; it never bothered me until we had our son and now I don't walk there at dusk with him
2. There is a lot of wooden planking. One entrance is a footbridge snaking to the main island and the planks wrap around from there through the entire back and around the front. These can be extremely slick especially after a rain or in winter. Both myself and my wife have slipped on these and the park service is very slow to keep ice away after the initial shoveling during winter so be very careful
3. Despite all this it's really well done and a great spot

After walking along the River on the Hoboken Waterfront Walkway we stopped here to take in the view on a nice crisp sunny October Day. Amazing view with grass that seems to go on for miles right on the riverfront. Take a day and enjoy!! You won't regret it.

Have visited many many many times with grand kids of all ages! Where else can you get clean, safe, playground with grassy, sandy, rubberized, intriguing, play areas on a fenced island in the Hudson with perhaps the best views of downtown Manhattan anywhere!!?? There are areas for the youngest with sand and water, areas of challenges for the older and even oldest kids. Even restrooms! The location on a modern island with modern architecturally interesting pedestrian only access bridges makes it a treat for eyes too! Just sitting on the grassy knoll at the top relaxing makes it a destination for adults looking for some peace and quiet too!

Don't miss this beautiful park if you are visiting Hoboken. The views of Manhattan are spectacular. I have noticed some design flaws with this park. When visiting with small children it's very easy to lose sight of them around the playgrounds, not a good thing for a park on the water. I've been there twice when small children were lost. The other major issue is that for some reason it tends to attract rowdy teenagers and it's been occasionally defaced with rude gravity. This is probably because of it having so many corners to hide. Not that I have ever felt unsafe but I have never seen any police officers or guards at this park. I'm not sure why such a lovely park would not have more vigilance.

This spot is likely the best location to see both midtown and downtown Manhattan skylines. It is also a small park with few people.

Wanting to see the best view of the NYC skyline from the NJ side my wife and I decided to check out Pier A Park based on the reviews on tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. The view is spectacular. There is a nice lengthy area for a stroll. Trees for shade. And an unobstructed view of NYC.
The only downside was trying to find a place to park. We were lucky to find one next to the soccer field.

This family and pet friendly park is a clean and beautiful park by the water front next to the Hudson River in Hoboken. You also can enjoy a grand view of the NYC skyline. There are plenty of areas for you to sit if you are tire of walking on the walkway.

The views only are worth the trip to the park. Can get a little breezy, keep that in mind. Beautiful views, postcard grade. Close to major arteries, spectacular day.

Hello, T@T@Places, et al: Where did you catch the ferry back to Manhattan and where did it let you off once you arrived at Manhattan? Is there a sign/designation for Pier A, or Pier C, or Hudson River Waterfront Walkway? It sounds like these lovely spaces are sort of all strung together along the river. I unfortunately am not good at creating a 'vision in my head' from writings. Interested in photographing some great views of the Manhattan Skyline. To be clear, I haven't even figured out HOW to get to these piers and walkways from Manhattan and here I am already wondering how to get back to Manhattan. LOL! Anyway, any detail information about this spot and how to arrive from and get back to Manhattan would be appreciated. Have a lovely day! Judi

I would take the New York Waterway Ferry that will take you from downtown Hoboken to downtown Manhattan and vice versa. The cost of the ferry is more expensive than taking the PATH train. The views of the NYC skyline, the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, etc. are well worth the price of admission. There is info regarding the NY waterway ferry system that handle the commute between Hoboken and Manhattan. They will be able to help you regarding where you want to get off and on the ferry in Hoboken/NYC. Hopefully, I was of help to you. Have a great time.

Is the park open during the fall fest in October thinking of having a small cake on the table for my son that day its a Saturday ?

The park is open during the festivals.

I have been in that park on weekends. In fact, I was there this past Sunday, two days ago. It was very active with children and families. In fact, all of Hoboken was due to their Arts and Music Festival.

Hi, Is park open on Christmas day? What are the timings?
Written 23 December 2014
I do not know if the park ever closes. However, since you are fairly local, you may want to call the Hoboken police department and ask directly. Enjoy the Pier!
