This place is really great for those who wish to take a break to nature. Don't miss out on the biking option available there. Take your own bike or rent bike for a bare minimum rate of $5 per couple of hours will suffice to have a ride around the park. We went during end of fall season, but expecting... More

Love coming here! I find the Duke family fascinating and while you walk the grounds you can only wonder at some of the experiences they had on the vast and gorgeous property! Plenty of wildlife and recently spotted a fox sitting quietly about to jump its prey.

This place is a marvel! Closed to the public since the early 1900's. Fantastic estate to wander around and enjoy the outdoors and experience what the Duke family had intended for the public to enjoy. Best of all it is entirely free. Trams run continuously and they even have bicycles for use as well.

Lots of winding paths and roadways make Duke an excellent place to take the family for a walk or bike ride. Flat, paved or gravel/dirt paths. They have a farm market in the summer, and we've gotten some really nice produce there.

I have lived in the area for 35 years but had never been to Duke Farms, that is, until Nov. 2016. What a pleasant surprise! It is a wonderful place to go on a good weather day, have a walk around, see the plants, and don't miss the orchid house. Lunch in the cafe (located inside the visitor's center) is... More

Walking and cycling paths, too much to see it all on foot. They loan bikes for free, also have a tram ride which I have not taken. Free, limited, nature programs- check their website for specific times. Nice, safe biking-no cars, well maintained paths, beautiful scenery.

The views are great and the bike trails/roads are fun to ride. You also do not have to worry about cars while you ride on the Farm. Don't forget to ride up the hill to see Where Doris Duke buried a lot of her pets including her pet Camel, named Baby. You will need a mountain bike for this off... More

An autumn afternoon...We brought our own bikes and explored the "farm". Our first stop was lunch at the cafe located inside the Orientation Center. We enjoyed the chili and panini sandwiches. We decided to use the bike crosswalk and head towards the haybarn. We found out that heading right after the crosswalk and around through the paths was enjoyable due... More

Absolutely beautiful in the Fall. We walked the trails for hours but will return for biking as well. It was crowded at all. We took beautiful photos. We had a lovely lunch at the café which had an orchid at every table. We found everyone to be very friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure.

Duke Farms has been on my to do for some time and it did not disappoint. I showed up at 8:30 and pretty much had the place to myself. I took a map and started off amongst the walking paths. Will definitely take my bike back next time. I went specifically to look at the ruin of the mansion that... More
