Overview
More
The 1879 Emlen Physick Estate is Cape May's only Victorian house museum. Attributed to renown American architect Frank Furness, the home has been fully restored. It's 15 rooms open a window into life more than 100 years ago. Guided and self-guided tours are offered. Each year, a new theme is interpreted in the museum. It has been restored and is operated by the non-profit Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities. The organization also operated a Gallery, Museum Shop and Cafe on the grounds, as well as offering guided daytime and evening trolley tours of Cape May. Check website for guided and self-guided tour times.

The house is beautiful inside, and the tour is very informative. It was perfect because you can spend as long or as little in the house as you’d like, and can enjoy the grounds as well. Overall, a great thing to do in Cape May.

Lots of fun things to eat (if you don't like crab!) , bandstand with great music. Crafts and jewelry. Wine and food vendors. Acrobats for the kiddies. Rode our bicycles there and had time to stroll around the grounds.

While vacationing in Cape May for the first time my wife and I took a tour of the Cape May Victorian home – the Emlen Physick Estate – which is more of a museum to Victorian living than a house tour. Visitors have a choice...More

Did a combined tour with the trolley and the museum. Got a great flavor of Cape May as first time visitors.

We wanted to do something indoors and this worked out nicely. Interesting learning about the Victorian Era. Amazing how the rich lived back then.
