We love walking through the area with the old houses, cemetery and other buildings related to the history of our local area! People live in some of them and some are completely condemned and falling apart. Markers around some of the buildings give information about...More

I live only a few minutes from here and am always surprised how quiet it is. The only time it's crowded is during some weekends. There are some old buildings left and the carriage house has been restored. It's a great place to walk your...More

Also called the Deserted Village although people still live in it! A collection of houses and other buildings that used to be a mill town, then a resort area. Remarkably accessible for being in the middle of the woods- road into village is well paved,...More

A run through Feltville is a run through history. Park at Cataract and either walk or run down the street to see the historic places.

The walks throughout the Deserted Village are historically interesting and have diverse settings. There is an archeology area, paths in the woods, buildings to tour. The hill back to parking is steep so it is not for the weak.

"The Forgotten Village" or "The Hidden Village" was a small manufacturing village, about 100-125 years old, which is now in a Union County park reservation. In recent years, the surviving buildings have been or are being restored. It's a pleasant flashback, nothing dramatic, and more...More
