Wonderful place for a walk to get away

A beautiful place and a great place close by to wander with nature. There are numerous trails and they are well blazed. Another pleasant thing is there is not much litter.

A beautiful, protected waters that is the water supply for the local town, Manchester, so no swimming or wading in the water here, but if you have a boat, you can float around on a gorgeous lake all day. There is a lovely waking trail, picnic benches, and an awesome way to while away the time.

Had a nice walk with the dog through the woods and by the lake. Some beautiful scenery, and saw various birds and a red squirrel. Nice and quiet on the day.

Nice paths around lake front, and a nice walk to the Audubon Osprey Center. It's okay for kayaking, I say just okay due to some on power/fishing boats don't pay too much attention to other boaters or speed limits. I've almost been run over several times. Also be aware it is the water supply to Manchester and you are required... More

A nice lake to walk around, admire views and bird watch. A number of different waterbirds around and many woodland species. a lot of paths through the woods to follow and very quiet on day we visited. Lake was a lot lower than on previous visit with a lot of beach now available - a sign of hot, dry summer... More

Close to home, with great water access, makes this my favorite kayaking site. There are actually several places you can put in, depending what type of boat you have, so you can see all of the lake in a kayak. Except of course the Manchester Water Works area as this is prohibited. Unfortunately, you also can not swim here, or... More

My husband and I rented a tandem kayak for "kayaking under stars" and it was awesome! We got to see the sun set on the lake (which was just breathtaking) and then kayaked around until the stars came out. We started around 7:20pm and called it a night around 10 (but could have stayed out until 11). We totally enjoyed... More

I go for walks around this lake every other day. There are multiple trails good for walking and biking. This lake is big with multiple small island, perfect for kayaking, boating and fishing.
