Nice park with pond, foot bridges, and an old wooden swing. Building closed when we visited, but we were able to walk the grounds at the pond.

First time at this campground and I was very impressed. Our site was clean, well maintained and easy to get into. The visitor center was easy to find and after checking in, we bought a few bundles of firewood. Not a lot of noise for the sites being close to one another, even with lots of families and kids around. I'd definitely recommend this place!

Christine,
Thank you for your very positive review of Moose Brook State Park. The campground there is one of my favorites and it is close to Mount Washington State Park and other White Mountain attractions. Thank you again for the recommendation and we hope you are able to include one of our great state parks in your future vacation plans.

We chose this campground while on a Atlantic Canada to Midwest USA trip. Wanted a few days in the cool mountains before heading west. The campground and trails in the area were perfect except for the fact that there is a quarry right behind the campground. If you are in the sites numbered 17, 19, 20 the quarry is just on the other side of a group of trees. Not more than 150 feet away. No problem for Saturday night and Sunday, but Monday morning the machines started up at 8:00 and went on all day! Bang. Crash. Backup beeper.

Moose Brook has trails, mountain views and babbling streams all around. The pool is a nice way to ice the legs after a long day of hiking, but it's generally too cold for any real swimming. Refreshing!

Great Park and campground close to the town. Lots to do including trails and if you want to fish. Very clean too compare to other state parks.

Nice campground with large wooded campsites. Good place to stay when visiting the White Mountains and Mt Washington. Only reasons I give it a four is pay showers and the mosquitoes were pretty heavy. We kept the mosquitoes at bay with citronella torches and bug spray but the pay showers were pretty annoying. Other than that it was a very beautiful area and a nice quiet campground.

I love Moose Brook State Park. Easy hike and snow shoeing. Feel very comfortable hiking alone also. We would also take our dog there on hot summer days to cool off. She loved it too. Swimming area is very nice.

Stayed here for the ATV Festival in 2016 and 2017. It is only ATV friendly for the festival. It is an average State Campground. The appeal to me was the trail access during the festival. To comment outside of that, I have no complaints for NH State Parks. I have stayed at 3 of them and they are all comparable in their operational aspects, some are a little better in amenities, but the websites show that and there were not any surprises.
Staff was great, no reason/s for me to not patronize again.

We had site 7. Great sounds on the running brook at night. Mostly shaded. Primitive campsite without water and electricity. New bathrooms, showers are .25 cents per min. Electricity and basin sinks near bathrooms. The inner circle sites are open to each other will a large shared field, a lot of sun! Would not hesitate to stay again. Sites 1,3,5,7,9 should all have sounds of the water but are have a steep drop to the brook. Best regards.

Nice local park, close to town but feels so far away, picnicking, beach area and new camping area close to Atv trails, water is cold for swimming but a nice quiet area.

Is there a view of the mountains from the campground area?

Not really, but you don't have to travel far for really nice views!

hi we are looking for a tent site that we can ride in and out of on the ATV with full access to the festival in august... can your campground accommodate that?
thanks

This would be perfect for you, ATV access is right outside your tent, down the road is the major ATV attraction with 100s of miles of trails at your service, including access to Jericho State Park, you'll love it! Atv's are also welcome in town, about 4 miles down the road, local restaurants and fast food chains. You won't be sorry!

I am coming by motorcycle in late June to this campground (Moose Brook). Only staying 1-night, 1-person, tent camping. If a weeknight, do I need to make a reservation? I would rather not be tied down to a specific day plus there is reservation fee. Thanks!

I don't think a reservation is necessary, lots of sites to choose from, especially that time of year, you should be fine

My 15 year old son and I are probably novice/moderately experienced hikers...all the videos I've seen for the trails in this area (Washington, Presidential Traverse, etc.) seem more like expert trails. We have not been in NH before and more used to hiking trails in Catskills, NY, which seem to be much easier terrain. Are there any more moderate, maybe 2.5 hour trails (5 hours total there and back) in this area? We are considering going there this summer but not if it's too difficult...thanks!

My one experience in the Catskills was at Diamond Notch. Many of the trails start with a grade similar to that trail, until they begin to ascend steeply over rocks to a summit. If you are willing to do out-and-back hikes, you can simply turn around when the going gets rough.
There are also some trails with less change in elevation. Get a topographic map of the White Mountains, and search appealing possible routes for hikers' comments on hiking websites. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to name the website I use. Google "all trails."
These hikes in the lower elevations can be quite rewarding, because you will walk through a variety of environments, each with its distinctive plant and animal life. You might see sundews digesting insects, hear a white-throated sparrow sing, or cool your feet in a mountain stream. Hiking doesn't have to mean peak-bagging.
