While we were disappointed that we weren't able to see the beautiful autumn foliage, the fog provided more of an adventurous feeling for experiencing the summit. Besides, we learned that approximately 300 days each year, the mountain is clouded/fogged in. Also, I was especially glad...More

We went on 10/11/18. It was foggy and had low visibility at the top. It was incredibly windy and miserable up top. HOWEVER, the first third or so of the way up was spectacular. The fall colors were just breathtaking. I think if the day...More

Spectacular views on this fun drive up and down this road. Didn’t realize that it’s the oldest operating tourist attraction in the USA. Unfortunately, it was very cloudy at the summit so nothing to see. On a clear day...WOW!!! The narrative cd provided interesting info...More

Having lived in New Hampshire most of my life, it is always sad to see how few NH license plates we see. Great, scary drive where Mother Nature is on display. Our most recent trip was only to half way due to limited visibility and...More

Driving up to mount washington was really great. We enjoyed the CD they gave us at the pay station that explained our drive. It is truly breathe-taking in both a scary and beautiful way. Really neat place.

Not all of the road is paved. It's a short piece above tree level that's dirt. But very good driveable. The whole road is easily driveable if you have a feeling for the car and its dimensions.

I’d take the van. You’ll get to see a lot more. And, your car will appreciate it.
