Can rent a room and tour the area from there. No food is served, but places are close by. Some people schedule to get married in the historic chapel and have their receptions in the historic shaker dining room.

A great tour with a very personable and knowledgeable tour guide. The Great Stone Building is worth the time to take the formal tour. An interesting walk through history of the Shakers and the local area.

Despite being a smaller Shaker museum, the grandeur of the building makes up for that. We stayed overnight in the dormitory rooms upstairs which albeit spartan, it's a superb experience to have.

The Shakers are all but gone, but the guides bring the experience to life. It's sad to see that most of the structures are sold off, the land around it built up as McMansions and the last three Shaker women left are in Maine. It...More
