This museum is definitely worth your time. It has different exhibits, more than you ever would expect. It has something of everything, all related to either Dover or New Hampshire. I won't go into detail, you need to go and see yourself. You also will be able to visit a Garrison house, that was moved manually in one piece from... More

If you are with small kids, then definitely go to this museum. They have a lot of great attractions and the staff is very friendly.

I first found out about this trip when I accompanied my children on a field trip for American History. We were picked up by a trolly (Which I did not know we had in Dover) and taken to the Museum. The children enjoyed it and was fascinated to see an original Gable roof structure from the 1800. I have been... More

I had a family membership with kids ages 5 and 3 this past year. We visited the museum many times and while it helped find us something to do during the winter months, I would rate this as average for a children's museum in a small city such as Dover. When compared with Portland and Boston, the kids just run... More

We had a wonderful time! Kids were 8 and 3 and they especially loved the interactive displays! They were visiting from their home state of Hawaii (with their parents) and lucky for us they were able to expend a lot of energy during our visit. The 8 year old (girl) really liked the dress up/tv screen area; while the 3... More

It was a wonderful place to go. The kids had fun. It is smaller then other ones that I have been too. There were still lots of things to do. They had staff walking around if you had questions. One thing was that some of the room activities were closed as it was the weekend. It wasn't busy with lots... More

We went to the Children's Museum on a road trip from ME to CT, because my sons (aged 2.5 and 6) were getting antsy in the car. The museum does not have a large "footprint" but they really make a *great* use of space. There is something for everyone - I saw teenagers building Jenga-type towers, doing the brain wave... More

I think this is the best Children's museum I've come across even if it is not the largest. Plenty of exhibits and some really smart ones, such as the brain wave competition, and the build your own flyer. The new sandbox is inspired, and a good one for older kids learning geography. Whilst not aimed at my 9 year old... More
