The museum is very well run by a staff of dedicated and helpful people. The place has 4 buildings - each housing different and interesting items. We found thecontents to be varied, well displayed, and informational. The staff was extremely helpful and informative. We would recommend this museum to everyone!

So much history hidden at the Woodman Institute.. Amazing place to spend a few hours.. The antique house that is on the back property is a must see!

Went to the Woodman this wek as it was one of the only museums open before May. Stewart guided us through the variety of exhibits including the almost 400 year old garrison house and the ehibit of the inventer of the first lightbulb (not who you think it was). Not only was the collection vast and interesting, but we also... More

If you haven't been to the Woodman, you're missing valuable & interesting local history and the Polar Bear! On another note, if you haven't visited in the last few years, you're missing everything of old that has been carefully added to this wonderful collection.

I have been several times, always have been welcomed by someone who knew the collection well and was eager to introduce it. There is something of interest for everyone here, and it manages to be local in feel rather than overly aseptic.

A unique blend of local history displayed nicely in three well kept buildings. Everything from Indian artifacts, wars to manufacturing and much more. You will greeted by a large polar bear that was shot by a local sportsman in the 70's.

I have been to the Musuem several times. First time with my children on a class trip for an American History Class. I have also taken visitors there to see history through the eyes of people who lived in the area from the 1800 to the present. There is a house there where you can see how settlers lived in... More

We just visited the Woodman Museum a couple weeks ago, always wanted to do it. Was totally worth our time, and what an awesome museum it is. Lots of different things to look at about Dover history, and tons of collections donated from Dover residents. You never would imagine in your wildest dreams what you can find there! Take your... This was our rainy day point of interest and it didn't fail. Going through the rooms on each floor, there was a lot to take in, but the cool part was going into the two other buildings that go along with it. It was made even better because one of the owners (I think) was our tour guide and gave... More
