Something I said I would never do as I saw it climb several years before while we drove up/down Mt. Washington. I finally got up some courage and asked a friend to go with me while the rest of our group golfed and hiked. I purchased tickets in advance- highly recommend doing this if you want to ride on a... Taking the railway was a lot more relaxing than driving - for both of us. Plus you get to learn a little bit about the area, the history and get to take photos - even if they are of the clouds/fog coming in to the rail car. It may be more expensive than driving your own car but again, more... More

Ok, so it isn't the cog railway at Pikes Peak, but it is well worth doing. Especially if you go on the old coal fired engine. The conductor was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the mountain and the railway.

It's not a very cheap deal but the landscapes, the 37° climb of the COG worth the price asked. Enjoy your trip with these wagons and try to stay on your feet during the climb.

We drove up to the Cog Rail Station to see the Foliage and take pictures of the Trains for our Grandson's. We did not take the train up because we have done that before and there was a 2 hour wait. We walked all around the area, went in the Museum and gift shop and even took a picture of... More

This is a slow expensive attraction for what it is unless you are interested in the view of the mountains or railways. If you end up on the RHS of the car like I did up and LHS back there is nothing much to see for 1/2 hour each way. It is often cloudy so I wouldn't book ahead or... More

We didn't actually get to experience this attraction, as it had closed for the season except for weekends. But you can walk through their little museum and the gift shop is open. However, I'll just say, that if we ever get to go back during season, this would be a definite stop!!!

We unfortunately arrived on a day when the cloud covered the mountain before we even got halfway up the railway. The drop in temperature was really quite dramatic with folks rapidly closing the railcar coach windows and putting jackets on. The wind at the top was pretty vicious as well so it was nice to get a warm bowl of... More
