The train was good fun and our guide on the way up (a young lady who was trainings to be a break man) was lovely, helpful and informative. We had nil visibility at the top however breaks in the cloud on the way up allowed us to see the amazing view. This is quite an expensive trip ($69) but it... More

What a wonderful experience. At first my kids didn't seem all that thrilled but once we got to the top the were overwhelmed by the view! Definitely a must see and do!

This was our first experience on the Cog. It was my husband's birthday and thought this would be a good time. We took the train all the way to the top of Mt Washington. It was thrilling, as you are on the edge going straight up! The views are incredible. They give you plenty of time to explore the observatory... More

43 motor coach passengers were thrilled with the opportunity to experience Mount Washington and the cog railway. We visited on a cool October morning. One of the engineers served as our guide while on the railway. He was informative and clever, and certainly helped make the slow ascent better. We were fortunate to have only a little fog and were... It was a family and friends outing. Foggy but that was fine. The staff were very courteous and proud of their heritage.

We took a trip on the coal-fired steam engine train up the Mount Washington Railway in the fall and it was an amazing experience. Whilst it's a slow climb to the top, you never get bored and the journey on the way down is an experience in itself. The early 8.00am train also allows an amazing drive to the railway... More

If you need a getaway, the White Mountains provide a great refuge. The Cog Railway was a fun experience that provided great views and peace. Definitely worth it.

The Cog Railway Train climbs up the steep mountain. Nice way to start a review you will see why. Another 50-State Quest done in August again not in ((2016 but in 1995)). This year was the 6 New England states but for this review I will only cover our 29th state in New Hampshire. The others you can look for... More

As a native New Hampshirite, I've seen the little train go up and down Mount Washington hundreds of times, and a friend and I finally got on the darn thing. It was great! It helped that it was a sunny, clear day -- the views were beautiful. It's not the Rockies, but the White Mountains have their own splendor. The... More

I've travelled on the cog several times over the past 20 years or so, and find it to be the easiest, and most-relaxing way to get to the top of Mt. Wsahington. During leaf-peeper season, the views of the multi-colored White Mountains are spectacular. The only down-side, or, I should say "down-sides", are the cost, and the crowds. Unless you... More
