Excellent grooming and trail maintenance in a barren season. The climb to the top of their groomed network is fairly easy for kids then all down on the way back. The base lodge is indescribably fun eclectic. Bear Notch is good old fashioned XC with modern grooming technology. Oh and they make fresh bread for the skiers!

The skiing location somehow gets more snow and keeps more snow longer than any other spot in the area. It is a friendly family run spot with 65 km of great groomed trails. Dogs are welcomed the place is clean. the trails are well groomed. They serve great soup and bread for all cross country guests in their nice warming... More

Bear Notch x-country ski place has always been a favorite stop on our annual winter vacation in the area. This is a reasonably priced family and pet friendly place with a variety of interesting well maintained x-country ski trails that are up and down through forest glades, besides the river and past a lovely waterfall. There is a rustic barn... More

When the ground was bare everywhere there was snow at Bear Notch. We enjoyed a beautiful ski along the edge of the river with beautiful views of the mountains. The attention to trail grooming was outstanding. The character and personal touches are what make Bear Notch really special. We loved meeting the different family members working hard to make this... My husband and I were fresh off our first XC ski experience the day before and decided to check out some of the locations aside from the well-known Jackson Ski Touring Foundation. We liked the sound of Bear Notch and drove up to take a look. The prominent sign let us know we were in the right location, but we... More

Bear Notch is a great place to ski. It's a down-home family operation and a very welcoming kind of place. They have large trail system and are committed to grooming and to giving skiers a quality ski experience. The trails are well marked and the terrain is varied and very scenic. We happened to go there during a stretch of... More

We almost left when we pulled up to the "center". It looks pretty run down, but the trails were so professionally maintained and the scenery was spectacular. The trails were well marked. There was no getting lost. We would come back here in a heart beat. Looking forward to exploring the rest of this amazing network of trails.

We've known about this place for many years and have always loved the trails, both in summer and winter. The cross country skiing is my favorite part, with beautiful groomed trails complete with excellent views. I'd highly recommend this to skiers of all levels.

We traveled the Bear Notch road from the Kancamagus to Bartlett; several great panoramic views along the way. No stops for water views like the Kancamagus , but worth the trip.
