- surfercharlieGlendive, Montana868 contributionsVery Interesting! The Good Old Days!I did not have any interest in the Mob Museum, but the person I was with wanted to check it out so we did. I am so glad we went. There is so much history and it is so well presented. My favorite part was the speakeasy at the end. The guy we gave the code to at the door had some fun with us.... and it was totally enjoyable. So was the drink! Parking is $8, which is a little bit crazy, but my recommendation is to go ahead and pay it and park close. Plan at least a couple of hours. There is more there than I expected, and a lot of reading involved.Visited August 2022Written 9 January 2023
- Linda B74 contributionsMob Museum is interesting and educationalI loved the museum. Staff are very friendly. Our first stop was on the third floor where the line up is conducted. Very educational with a 2 way mirror. There are places to sit and watch movies on the history. You can read information on the pictures or watch the movies. Take advantage of the Happy Hour which is a discounted rate after 5 pm. Call to check all the rates. They also have discount for Nevada resident, or military discount must show identification card.Visited January 2023Written 17 January 2023
- Cloud573 contributionsTicket prices ridiculously highThe ticket prices (about 30usd for a non-resident adult) are just crazy and definitely not justified. If you wish to save some money, at least do not go there by car as the parking fee adds up to that. Just be aware that a free shuttle bus, the Downtown Loop, is reaching it from eg The Strat hotel at selected times (please check on the bus website, at present 11-18 Sunday to Thursday, 15-22 Friday and Saturday).Visited January 2023Written 11 February 2023
- Connie F476 contributionsDo Not MissAbsolutely fantastic museum. Very informative, interesting, and well laid out. Love the movies to view throughout along with displays. The volunteers are a wealth of knowledge as well. One of the best museums that I have been to in recent years.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 May 2023
- STELLA08AucklandAuckland Central, New Zealand470 contributionsGo early - avoid the crowdsSo much to see, and pretty crowded - I'd recommend going when they open as it gets a bit hard to read all the plaques when its busy. We enjoyed our visit here, but after a while found it to be pretty similar. Disappointed in the Speakeasy Bar in the basement. For one thing, it was freezing cold, plus it didnt seem to have much in the way of "atmosphere" - just like a normal bar.Visited March 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 15 May 2023
- Grover RPensacola, Florida18,030 contributionsThis is a Great Museum that Exceeded my ExpectationsI will say I did not have high expectations when our group said this was on the schedule of our Las Vegas activities, but it was a great museum and experience. It starts with the history of Las Vegas and entrance of Mob in shaping the town and gambling industry. However, it also focused on the casino business, showing ways people cheat and the ways people win. Also interesting that the building that host the museum is the former courthouse in Clark County that hosted hearings on the Mob. I came in skeptical, but I left an advocate recommending a visit when you go to Las Vegas.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 May 2023

Very well laid out and great exhibits with just the right level of details in the signs. Would be great for all ages 11 and up (may not be appropriate for younger kids)Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 June 2023
- michellerR6668Placerville, California87 contributionsThought this would be cheesy but very interestingSomeone recommended and we went thinking what the heck. Found it to be fascinating and especially loved the interactive parts like the picture you could take getting booked and displays. Also liked that they included more modern day cartel and gangs. A fun time is to go to speakeasy.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 September 2023
- midawg73Bay City, Michigan101 contributionsDefinitely worth your timeThis attraction has been on my list for a while. It was time to take it off the list. The Mob museum is in the former post office/court room for las vegas. The exhibits are well thought out and go in chronological order. Some of the highlights are the st valentines day massacre wall, AL capone and prohibition, kefavur hearing courtroom, early las vegas, and more modern times. Also some Mob inspired movies. I got the audio tour which is worth the extra $. Don't forget to get a drink at the underground bar.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 14 October 2023

Well organized and easy to follow exhibits. Allocate at least two hours just for the Museum, not counting distillery.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 October 2023

I would highly recommend seeing the Mob museum. It was so interesting to read about all the mobs and heads of the mobs, how they got started and how some of them died. I would also recommend paying the extra money for the crime lab. Go down to the basement and get a drink at the Speakeasy.

I am not a gambler by any means, However, given the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas for a time with former college classmates, I began to look for other things to do. The Mob Museum was a great idea. It was exactly as I had hoped -- and then some. One of my classmates and I spend a little more than three hours there. We both learned a lot about the history and continuing influence of organized crime in America.

We thought this would be worth a visit as part of our holiday to Las Vegas. We booked our tickets for the post 5.00pm slot and also included the Distillery Tour and Tasting experience too.
Museum has a good layout, starting at the top of the building and then you work your way around and down following the history of The Mob and their involvement in Las Vegas. Time seemed to pass quickly and we didn’t realise that it had taken us best part of 2 hours to go round, we had to break off early to ensure that we made our time slot for the Tasting experience in the Speakeasy in the Basement. Here we were given samples of several drinks including Moonshine, with varying degrees of alcohol content and associated tastes, some definitely better than others, you have been warned!
Overall felt the visit was great value and would recommend to anyone visiting.

We stayed at the Flamingo, started by a mobster, so we decided to visit the Mob Museum while in town. HOLY COW! This place does not disappoint. The museum starts with the birth of Las Vegas and explains how it became “sin city.” It has all kinds of history, and the exhibit even talked about Vegas’ divorce resorts, so you had somewhere to stay for 6 weeks while waiting for it to be finalized (back then). There are interpreters in each room that give you the basics and you can ask them specific questions too. There are a LOT of artifacts…they even have the original wall of the St Valentine’s Day massacre. The building used to be a government building, and one of the courthouses across the country that tried the mobsters is there. You get to sit in it and watch some short films about the trials held in that room. The photos and readings around the museum are numerous but not overwhelming, since each is just the important details. After several floors regarding the mob, the ending of the museum (it flows down each floor..that’s how they direct you to do it), you learn how the mobs do business today. Since alcohol is legal, they’ve had to branch out into drugs, shell businesses, etc. There is an exhibit that shows actual pictures of mob “hits” with lots of gore, but they warn you and there is a door to skip that exhibit if you want to. There are side exhibitions you can pay to visit, such as a mock crime lab and a shooting area (didn’t do it so nothing to sat). We spent about 2 hours there and could have gone longer but our brains were “full”, LOL

Fascinating look at organised crime with emphasis on the Vegas story. Brilliant layout with so much to see and read up on. Archive film and period audio. Great short film shows with dramatic settings, like the courtroom and the Vegas lounge room of the magnificent 50s and 60s. Lots of artefacts from the period. Good section on the many brutal murders and punishments. Seeing the Valentine Day massacre wall was very cool.
Loved the speak easy bar and paid extra for the liquor experience where you get to taste a series of moonshine drinks with lots of info on prohibition and the modern process. Plus you can buy some of it here too. There are other interactive ticket options involving forensics and shooting. Super shop with so much stuff. Good section on films and tv featuring Vegas and crime. Staff mega helpful and so nice. Close to the Fremont street area.

I have always had a huge interest in La Cosa Nostra and mafias alike, so to me personally this is one of my favorite museums I have ever been too.
Building consists of three stories filled with tons of information and artifacts throughout the history of the mafia. You can learn everything from how somebody joins the mafia to how Vegas was when the mafia ran it. It also has a real court room set up with videos where actual court cases were had against various mafia members.
My girlfriend who couldn't even tell you one made member of the mafia throughout history even enjoyed walking through and learning a bit.... So, if you have just the slightest interest in what is organized crime and how it is actually a pretty big part of history... I highly recommend this museum.

Excellent museum. Very informative. My big takeaway is that how big and organized the mob was. They were ruthless and would not hesitate to kill anybody even police and judges to keep their activities illegal. They were also serial killers with one person reportedly killing at least 100 people. The museum did not glamorize the mafia. The old mob rule of we only kill each other is totally fake.

There are three levels of exhibits. You start on the third floor and work your way down. It has a great mix of Vegas-specific information and more general history of organized crime in America, and how the two worlds interacted until about the 90s. It is housed in the old federal post office where the Kefauver hearings on organized crime were held in Las Vegas in 1950. There is a very informative video presentation about these hearings and their connections to Vegas gaming. We also participated in two of the hands-on add-on exhibits, the "crime lab" and the use of force training range. I would highly recommend the latter, but both were worth the extra cost. At the crime lab, you learn about ballistics testing, fingerprinting, DNA, and autopsies. The use of force training activity puts you in the role of a police officer and how you react to specific threats. I cannot stress highly enough how interesting this was and the people who helped us in this set of two video and one live-action sequences were outstanding.

This museum did not leave anything out. It’s four stories and well organized based on time periods. It’s mostly pictures and some weapons. They did have a brick wall from the St. Valentine’s Day massacre. The distillery experience was a lesson in prohibition and a moonshine tasting which was great. They also have some TV and movie memorabilia. Overall, a great experience. You are not going to see this anywhere else so definitely worth the visit!

Yes, they have expanded it, changed some exhibits (made them more easily viewed), and added some films. Hope this helps.

My wife and I parked in Binions parking garage and walked about two blocks to the museum. We then came back to Binions and ate upstairs at Whiskey Liquor Up and got our parking ticket validated. The restaurant was clean and the food was awesome and then parking was free!!

Hello. I am a traveller who gets fatigued easily and need to sit frequently. Does this museum have places to sit like benches or chairs on every floor? I hate missing out but I get a little nervous when I think about not having a place to sit and gather my energy.
How is the parking situation? We will have a personal vehicle and we hope to park as close to the museum as possible.
Thank you for your time and information!
