Played Black Jack for the first time ever here. Great value with $10 entry per hand.
The dealers and fellow players were very patient with a beginner.
The drinks came around at regular basis as well.
Thanks to Kam and Lin Jiu for being entertaining and helpful dealers

El Cortez is an overlooked gem at the end of Fremont Street! Beautiful and comfy rooms, excellent dinners at the Siegals restaurant and loose slots!!! Will definitely go back!!!!

First time back to the Cortez in about 6-7 years. Still a great place to gamble. Plenty of $10 blackjack tables, and they still have a good number of slots & video poker that you can play with actual coins!! Everyone we encountered from the parking lot attendant, to the waitresses, pit bosses, dealers, and cashier employees were very friendly. It is still unfortunate that the occasional derelict would wander into the casino smelling like weed. Even when the security guards would usher them out, the area would still reek for a few minutes afterwards. Other than that, we had a good time & gambled there for a good 2-3 hours or so. Even won a little!

I have been going to the El Cortez for 15 years. Many things of changed here not for the better. I recently stayed at the end of April 2023. They have removed many of the Game King machines throughout the casino. And many of the ones that were out, the screens did not work or the money intake slot did not work. The place is full of the gigantic video game style machines now. Very disappointing. A promotion they advertise is get a free box of candy with a $1200 jackpot. Russell Stover or See's chocolate. However you need 2 $1200 jackpots to get the See's candy. Unfortunately in the past the casino had much better promotions and better machines to play. Now it just seems like any other strip casino.

Great casino with lots of gaming choices.
Liz is the number 1 server in the El Cortez…she was awesome.
I was glad to see they had staff cleaning machines.
Old school casino and diner with a friendly atmosphere…plus Daisy waited on us twice at the diner and we just love her, great people here!

Best blackjack tables in Vegas! Low limits, single and double deck tables. We had a blast playing here!! Wasn’t on our radar at first but glad we found it!!!

It's a piece of old Vegas went to Siegel's restaurant for the prime rib special for 16.95 was great it was 6.95 last time I was there

We stayed at the hotel here. I had a nice quiet cabana room. Great selection of old and new slots & video poker. Had fun at the $10 min blackjack table in the morning when it wasn't crowded. Will return.

El Cortez is one of our top two downtown/Fremont casinos (it's a couple blocks off Fremont but we count it).
Affordable table games - Steven loves Craps, and REAL COIN slot machines, plus an old-timey, friendly, welcoming vibe makes staying around easy - even if you're down.
This last trip Steven did really well on the $10 minimum Craps and we got personal 1-on-1 tutorials because it was so slow (Monday night). The staff were friendly and drink servers came around a couple times.
Jessie played the retro REAL COIN slots which she enjoyed. No big wins but hey, it's fun hearing the plinks of the metal and actually physically SEEING when you SHOULD walk away from the machine. . .
We've never had a bad time here in the three trips we've made (Nov 2018, pre-COVID 2020, and Aug 2021) so it's always on our recommended list. Remember to tip your servers and your dealers/croupiers/etc!! (Good karma can go far in Vegas)

El Cortez casino never disappoints! Multiple wins, several taxable wins! Casino is very clean, remodel looks great while maintaining the essence of old school vegas charm. Excellent mix of new and old games. Lots of brand new machines with excellent video poker…Shockwave, Ultimate X, Powerhouse, and many more. We went three times (stayed at the Plaza) and won every trip.

Decent, loose, but not the newest and glitziest. El Cortez has some great blackjack rules, but it’s an older casino. But lots of 6-9 video poker machines.

.25 cent or .50 cent chips is not per play. Theres is a minimum . Was $1 last year
