Wonderful history. Was surprised at how big it really is. Can get a bit crowded. Great scenic views.

A must see. The construction of this world wonder is simply amazing. Bring a camera as the view is gorgeous. Would recommend anyone to be sure to visit.

We only had time to view the dam outside so skipped the tours. Plenty of interesting sites that highlights the art deco. The sculptures by the flag pole on the Nevada side are very interesting. Be sure to stop at the artwork on the towers...More

Super easy drive from Las Vegas (about 40 minutes) - and well worth while. Beautiful views of the dam & Lake Mead. We did not take a tour this time but we have in the past. Worth the price for 1st time visitors though. Parking...More

The bridge itself is an amazing piece of engineering. It allows you to take perfect pictures of the dam for free.

We parked on one of the higher car parks on the South side of the damb saving the $10 parking fee! & giving us a chance to appreciate the spectacular workmanship that went into building not only the damb but the thought & care given...More

This is a must see, the history is wonderful and the views amazing. We were supposed to see the interior (through viator booking) but for some reason they said security wouldn`t allow it for that day. Maybe next time if ever we go back.

My wife and I visited Vegas in March and we booked a tour for the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. The dam is just 45 minutes from Vegas and the bypass is an excellent way to see the dam and take some pictures.

We had a rental car so we could get away from the casinos and hubbub of the strip during the day. Hover Dam is a relatively short drive of less than 40 miles. Easy to get around and Interesting to do the tour inside the...More

We were at the Hoover Dam March 2017. The weather was great. The surrounding area is nice too. It was an easy drive (40 min?) from Las Vegas. The engineer room was under construction, but we have a good walk around on the dam and...More

We rented a car. However, while we were at the dam and bridge, we saw several tour buses. I guess you would have to see if the tour stopped at the bridge.

I can't imagine that you can fully appreciate the magnitude of this dam without taking the tour and going down into the belly of this beast. Yes the outside areas are incredible but even more so is what's underground and... More

I highly advise you rent or bring a mobility scooter especially if you are also visiting the Las Vegas area as it will be way too much walking for you. One block or two can talk a healthy person a half hour to an hour as the... More
