About
The Mirage Volcano in front of Las Vegas’ MGM Mirage has been wowing travelers for over 30 years. The volcano erupts in a nightly fiery display against a background of dancing water jets—complete with a pulsating soundtrack and a kaleidoscopic light show. It actually emits heat to mimic an actual eruption. The show draws a sizeable crowd each time so it's recommended to get there early to snag a good viewing spot. Catch the show on a night tour of the city in a cute pink jeep, or enjoy an aerial view from a helicopter. – Tripadvisor

    Mirage Volcano
With some resorts discontinuing shows, it is good to see that the Mirage Volcano show is still going on. I was drinking at the Rhumbar, when I heard the volcano show start, and it sounded like gun shots. Every time I am in Vegas, I like to make a visit to see the Mirage Volcano show. I strongly encourage you to see the Mirage Volcano show before the area is transformed into something else.

    Another great free show
Another great free show on the strip in Vegas. It has been a great show for years and will not be around much longer, so I enjoy it while you can. The Mirage will be torn down and replaced by a newer hotel. The Mirage volcano will be missed.

one of the best free sights in vegas
Vegas has a number of free 'spectacles' or shows. The volcano at the Mirage is one of the best ones, basically a fire and water show. It lasts about 5 minutes and is a great place to stop just to take a few photos and videos. You can really feel the heat of the flames and it does actually look like a volcano erupting!

Great free show. See it now as you may never get the chance again if Hard Rock takes it down.
Great free show that starts at 7pm, having a show every hours until 11pm (8pm, 9pm, 10pm & 11pm). If you can arrive a few minutes early it is helpful to get a good viewing spot. We like to be away from crowds, so we stand back but off to the front for the best view. It shoots up high, so it can be seen and experience great from even across the street. You will feel the heat the closer you go. If crowds aren't your thing, it's even awesome viewing from a room at the Mirage, which is what we did.

No eruption 2/7 at 10p! Walked all the way down here for nothing which is a bummer. Was on my list of things to do free in Vegas!

Cool free entertainment! We just got out of the LOVE Beatles show and waited only a couple minutes to watch the volcano show (more like fire show). We watched from the backside and it was still impressive.

This was much more dramatic and longer than I expected.

A must see. Check their schedule online and get there early. It gets really crowded and it’s hard to see if you’re more than 2-3 people back.

Goodbye, beloved volcano!
It’s gone… completely covered from view, in preparation for the F1 race, and unlikely will ever be seen again, now that Hard Rock owns the Mirage and will be converting the entire property next year.
Be on the lookout for the Hard Rock’s signature upright electric guitar, and say farewell and thanks to The Volcano for three delightful decades of eruptions!

Great show really enjoyed this it’s about 10 minutes long so we’ll worth it. We got there a bit early to get a good spot to watch the show at the front of the rail.
