Not what it was.
Reception service is good though
The updated rooms apply pretty much to a feature wall behind the bed.
The beds are super comfy, the shower is hot and good pressure.
Now the bad bits:
Room cleaning is pretty bad, the potato chip next to the bed on arrival was still there 2 weeks later
room lighting is pitiful, not helped by the mesh screen advertising on the outside windows.
dust on edges of coffee table was thick enough to remove by finger
2 times the room was not serviced at all
the stippled ceilings in the room and corridors needs major work
corridor cleaning is pitiful, same bottle caps etc seen for multiple days
tv channels are hopeless, some dont even work and one even has the soundtrack for a different channel in the background
no water in rooms
fridges have been removed
bags of rubbish/laundry left in hallways overnight. not good in case of evacuation
elevators seem unreliable. 2 broke down and the rest seem to have issues
ice makers seem not to work quite often
housekeeping seem to enjoy corridor chats more than cleaning
security staff oblivious to people smoking weed near main lobby entrance
grounds cleaning staff thinks its acceptable to using a leaf blower to put cigarette butts into the rock gardens instead of picking them up
in general the place is run down and the staff dont care about it
we used to like the luxor, this was our 3rd time there but it will be the last

Complete waste of money - We just got back from Egypt and "thought" we were seeing part of King Tut's Tomb, but it's all just copies and replicas? To charge that much money for replicas is ridiculous. If that's the case, save your money and just go online and look at pictures.

Do not stay at the Luxor Hotel. The elevators rarely work, the staff is not helpful, and if you need housekeeping or maintenance be prepared to wait hours. The stay was a nightmare. We stayed here due to proximity to Allegiant stadium, I will definitely stay somewhere further away and uber next time.

We are staying at the Luxor and our shower handle fell off while I was in the shower. The Luxor sent the fabulous Dennis Jones to our room to fix the handle. Not only did he do a great job fixing the shower handle he was a complete delight! His customer is impeccable and he made our entire trip very memorable.

Only stayed here 3 days, rooms were big with 2 queen size beds. Decor needs updated and very old, carpet was a bit outdated too. Sockets on the walls were dodgy to use as the fixing was very slack and didn't use. Other sockets on the lamp to charge your phone in addition to sockets underneath the TV however this would short out with the hairdryer in use. There was no shower gel in the bathroom however the bathroom was lovely tiled and modern finish. No view is ever good when looking into a wall. After complaining we did get moved to another room which the only difference was the view of the pool, we were given $75 inconvenience which covered dinner that night. Drinks were very expensive approx $4.50 for a diet coke, $9 for bottle of beer. Pool was nice and clean. Would not stay here again though, staff service was poor.

Since the Luxor has been opened we have alway stayed there. Staff is friendly and alway willing to improve your visit. Several departments go above and beyond...vip services is outstanding...Sue is amazing. Building maintenance is generally right on the ball if something is wrong in your room...a gentleman who's name is Dennis was a joy to talk to as he solved a sink issue. All restaurants are wonderful but found Public House has a versatile menu and SUPERB service. The only negative is the rooms need a makeover..couch is old and not at all attractive the bedroom lamp shade is still crooked...all in all even with the negatives We love the Luxor!!!

Great to have an Egyptian Experience in the Luxor. Very on brand. The only down side is that the font on the items were sooooo small. The lighting was dim, as if you were in the tombs in Egypt itself, but the dimness made reading the plaques very difficult. You definitely get your workout on squats too, the signs are all over the display cases. I love the replicas, the encasement that Tut's sarcophagus was in was very detailed. I would definitely recommend doing the audio tour, or the Oculus experience at the end.

I don’t smoke so I don’t know for sure. You shouldn’t have a problem finding some area outside to just smoke though.

Hi there,
I do apologise as I'm not sure on the answer. We stayed with children, so didn't use the casino , all I know is people were smoking in the casino, so not sure if there was an area that was purely for no smoking. Sorry I'm not much help.
I am staying in the Luxor for 4 nights, can any one tell me what the security deposit be for this long? Also if I pay by credit card will the hold be released the day I leave as I am then flying to new york and hoping to use the same card for deposit fees? I was also wondering if resort fees are 35 dollars a night what other taxes will I be charged

I notice that the resort fee for the Luxor is nearly $40 per room per night and is on top of a room deposit. What does the resort fee cover or is it a stealth tax?

The luxury of gambling in their establishment. A win Win for them. Almost every major hotel & Casino on the strip charges for this fee. Also ask if they charge for overnight parking. I have been hit with this fee at other hotels & Casinos on the strip. When I last stayed at the Luxor I flew in instead of driving in as I normally do.

I'm saying at the luxor this coming October. I know you have to pay a "resort fee" but what is the charge for the room deposit? A friend has just got back from Vegas but stayed at the Bellagio & had to leave a $600 ROOM DEPOSIT!!! Which is crazy money!!!
