I stopped here and paid $6 to enter because I had some extra time. During this 8 day trip I stopped at about 15 different museums and this by far was the worst. There are few exhibits and lots of old photos of cars in Yellowstone if that's what you want to see. One old car, a stagecoach, a couple... More

We spent a couple of hours going back in time in an old railroad depot learning about train and car travel in Yellowstone during the early 1900's. You see Stagecoaches, an old model T and lots of informative short films. My favorite part of the entire exhibit was reading the hand written stories of people who actually experienced traveling or... More

We expected a bit more but the movies that explained the history of the hotels & traveling back in 1900's was so interesting! We found ourselves referencing the movie when we went to see Lake Hotel. No a must do but if you have an hour or two, we enjoyed it.

I loved seeing all of the old photos, and learning about how tourists viewed Yellowstone over the years. With your paid receipt, you can go back another day for free.

On a rainy day during our visit we decided to check out the Historic Center. It is very well done. We were lucky enough to also be able to hear a Park Ranger explain the importance of the Bison to the area. The displays were well done. They had many actual items from the railroad days. The best were the... More

It was interesting but mostly information about how the invention of cars changed to travel to Yellowstone. There's information about the early stage coach tours and what it was like for the early visitors. Small museum so it didn't take long to see it all.

The exhibits are interesting but I found the film especially interesting. The flyover of Yellowstone showed many inaccessible places and was spectacular. The exhibits include a Model T and some wagons. I can't imagine traveling across the country in one of those wagons.

I was actually there in 1975 on honeymoon. We visited the Yellowstone area and enjoyed it all, from the geysers to the Visitors' Center. It is a place all should try to see at least once!

This place was wonderful from the staff to all the displays...I did learn a lot and read everything they had. Very neat and clean inside..looks new but I'm not sure how long it's been there. There's a small gift area in the front and items were reasonable..loved the old cars they had there.. A small fee to get in and... More

While visiting Yellowstone we decided to visit the Yellowstone Historic Center Museum. Staff members were very nice, interactive, and kept the facility in great shape. The information was interactive, displayed nicely, informative, with unexpected history stories. The building is old but that one of the great things about the museum. The museum is small but packed with lots of information.
