We enjoyed an interesting visit to The Madison Buffalo jump - a high limestone cliff used by Native Americans to stampeded herds of bison. Impressive views of the Madison River Valley as seen from the top of the jump. Interpretive displays onsite.

Very gorgeous view and quiet park. Looks very beautiful in winter. We saw lots of golden eagles there

While the park is about 7 to 10 miles off the Interstate (and part of that is a dirt road), the visit is definitely worth it. Take, at least, the 1/4 mile hike to the viewing area, which has good interpretive signs and a great view of the 30-foot cliff or buffalo jump. If you have more time, you can... More

We are always interested in history related sites, and visited this one thinking we'd actually see a buffalo jump. It's a long drive off the Interstate highway to the park location, especially driving a large RV pulling a car. The last few miles of road are dirt and very bumpy. When we arrived at the park, there is an information... More

the buffalo jump is south out of Logan on ~10 miles of paved & 5 miles of gravel roads but is worth it to see this sort of iconic place,...it is easy to imagine a thundering cascade of buffalos tumbling down at you as look up at the cliff they would have been driven over sights like this are not... 2nd visit. This time we were the only 2 people there in the morning and it was great to enjoy the silence and view the site. Next time we're going to do the hike to the top of the plateau. Very interesting to understand what took place there before the horse arrived.

Several years ago we had visited this location but we had only seen the "Jump" from the top. This time we made the trek to see it from the bottom. Wow - what a difference! From the bottom you get the eerie feeling of imagining the Buffalo cascading over the rim above. You can visualize the Indian men and women... More

5 miles of paved road before the two miles of well maintained gravel road. Once at the site, you can walk the quarter mile to interpretation kiosk or walk the entire trail of two miles to top of the actual buffalo jump. It is an honor system park as are the fresh chocolate chip cookies in a cooler by the... More

It was raining when we stopped, but the walk was worth it. The kiosk display was very informative and educational.

This is a very scenic state park in Three Forks Montana. Madison Buffalo Jump State Park is located several miles off of I-90 down a gravel road. It is a road that is easily accessible with any time of car though as long as there is no snow on the road. This state park allows for visitors to watch wildlife... More
