This is a wonderful hike, whether you go just a short way to enjoy the pools of water on a hot day or a longer hike into a lush forest. We have hiked this trail on two separate occasions and appreciate the varied terrain, views, flowers, and wildlife.

This trail runs up a glaciated slot canyon, following the Kootenai Creek with its falls and cascades and beaver ponds and quiet pools. It goes about 22 miles, so simply turn around when you're about half tired. It's downhill all the way back.

A great trail with lots of great scenery and wildlife. Get out early to take full advantage of the peace and quite. Best chances of seeing wildlife as well.

A beautiful and picturesque hike. Take time for photos and to hike the entire trail. The trail is well marked and not too traveled. It's a gorgeous hike and will take a few hours if you take your time.

Truly beautiful and wonderful hike or ride. Accurate Outfitters offers trail rides, pack trips and hunting trips in this same canyon. Breathtaking. I recommend that you take the time to explore the beauty of this wonderful trail. It is a short distance off Highway 93 in Stevensville and offers some amazing scenery.

As with most of the drainage trails in the Bitterroots it's a steady but generally moderate uphill trek in a mountain canyon. the farther up you go you'll be treated to some stunning views of the mountains.

We hiked in and enjoyed our time, except we had to go around and over and under lots of downed trees.

Beautiful trail about an hour south of Missoula. Not much pedestrian traffic and the trail takes you along a river/falls. It makes for a nice day hike.

A wonderful place to hike. Not stroller friendly. Not even a rugged one. Child backpack recommended. And, take your camera!!

Walking this trail in nice and fun little trip, there is lots of scenery and nice challenges (that are easy to go over). There are even places for rock climbers and the like. Best of all it is free!
